'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

It will be. Its not a spread or gimmick offense. Its a physical running attack and the QB getting the ball to the playmakers in open space. He will be at a school where he can fully run his offense, unlike what he had at cincy. People keep calling it a spread and its not. CBJ has said it wasnt and D. Green said he was shown how they would use him and its definitely not spread.

UH...yeah it is a spread. It's not a spread option, but it's spread. Why CBJ keeps saying its pro style I have no idea. I like CBJ and think he has a chance to do good here. But he runs a spread, I don't care what he calls it. See old UT games if you wanna see pro style. Or Bama, current LSU, USC, etc. Even Bama doesn't run a pro style. It's single back, which is a NFL set, but not TRUE pro style.

With that being said, I'm 100% convinced that CBJ's offense can and WILL succeed in the SEC for the fact that his spread does in fact use a north and south running game. That's a HUGE plus. But it's a spread if I've ever seen one.

It's all semantics. The definition of "Pro-Style" has changed and evolved. Pro-style, as WE know it, is 2 backs and a TE. Pro-stlye to kids TODAY is the Packers, Saints, Patriots, etc. The Full-back is a dying breed. The TE position has evolved into a different animal as well....see Gronk, J Graham, J Cook, etc. More snaps than ever in the pro game are coming from shotgun. Coach Jones' offense is more of the NEW pro-style offense...spread 'em out and take advantage of mis-matches.

Uhm no offense but if the man running the offense says its not then a pretty good chance it isnt. Just saying he's the coach and your a messageboard poster. Think I will believe him.

I agree with this completely. His offence is basically the spread. To me the spread means spread you and get one on one matchups with your play makers in space. How well it translates here remains to be seen. AnM seemed to work ok. And to me it's similar.

Um maybe you should ask Northwestern, Louisvile, and Clemson how dominate the SEC is this year.

Northweastern beat an overrated MSU team who had not beaten anyone of significance all year long. LSU had that game in the bag but did what typical LSU does...choke. The only game that was truly dominated was Louisville (with 2 L's) against UF, but you can't say you didn't expect it with how UF's offense can suddenly be non existent in some games.

So that puts us at 3-3 in bowl games this year and if Bama loses the National Championship, Texas A&M loses to Oklahoma, and Ole Miss loses to Pitt. We will be 3-6 this year and that could very well happen. I never said that we weren't the best conference. All I am saying is that we are not as dominate as we were from the past 6 years. Flame Away.

Never underestimate how big of a factor motivation is, as it pertains to bowl games.

A much better barometer is conference records in regualr season matchups against other power conferences. Care to guess which conference has the best record in those games?

Is this guy the complete package or he is better with pass or rush? Be great to have both.. it has been a while.

Only because they were ranked high in the preseason. You can't tell me with a straight face that UF, USCjr, and LSU are top 10 teams.

I most certainly can though. UF had one bad game. USCjr won 11 games as an SEC team. LSU lost 3 games against FLA, Bama and Clemson by a combined 13 points.

Oh and Florida lost to 2 teams that together have a combined 23 wins this year.
