'13 GA CB Brendan Langley

This recruitment has gotten really weird. It almost seems as if the whole "playing the game" scenario that recruits like to play has backfired on him, not saying this is the case now but it is starting to look like that is the case. Good luck to Langley where ever he ends up.

South Carolina has backed off because JUCO CB Ronnie Martin is on board. He signed with SC out of HS and was only going to be a take in this class if he could enroll in January, which as of last week he said he would be doing.

Staff still likes Langley but just not any room in the class.

yep TW it does.. he had poor camp performances at uga and at bama (we discussed this earlier in this thread). i know both teams backed off him some time ago. i heard something about usce having some miscommunication with him, it might be they wouldn't take him either. it might be what happened to kyrin where he was about to commit and now they wouldn't take it.

As far as I've read the reason that SC wouldn't take Kyrin at the moment is that he has yet to work out for the coaches. When that happens, the staff will make the decision on him.

I think he's behind Goodman, Bell, and Gray. But that's just a guess from me. Langley has very good potential in a scheme like ours though. So I don't know where the coaches rank him.

Agreed. He's got the athleticism and size, just needs to be coached up. I hope we get this guy.

Seems like the order is

Bell
Goodman
Gray
Langley
Sutton

I don't have an opinion on the matter, just seems the sentiment from reading the different threads.

I think Bell and Goodman are the tops. Gray, Langley, and Sutton are all pretty close. I might give a slight edge to Sutton because of his size and camp performances.

How would you guys rank the DBs we're going after? Let's say top 5 and you can include Ramsey since his commit isn't "firm"

For DB's in the order I would like to see:

Miles (since he's a commit)
Mack Alex
Bell (as a CB)
JRM
Goodman
Sutton
Gray
Harlan

4 safeties and 4 CB's - figure Ramsey isn't in the picture

Thought JRM was LB?

I thought some were just projecting him there at some point...I was under the impression he was more of a Kameron Miles type safety, maybe a Brewer type too.

Could be, although I know he himself said he would project best at OLB. I like him at SS though

Yea definitely the type of kid you want on your roster, find his best fit and he has the ability to move around and help you in numerous places. Especially with a defense like CSS is installing having guys like Brewer, JRM that you can move around can be huge.
