'13 GA CB Brendan Langley

So do you still maintain it was coaching that is primarily responsible for Alabamas success or was it the recruitment of these two premium backs? I remember you contended it was coaching, but then qualified it by saying not just saban but also the assistants, but not the assistants at mich state, and not lance Thompson while he was here. To extend your reasoning would be to attribute MI and Tr's talent to the excellent Rb coaching only Alabama could offer. Or it could be that excellent recruiting makes for an excellent football team. Calling people idiots in this thread is not cool btw, when someone disagrees with you and makes you look like one.

I have no issue when someone disagrees. I have an issue when someone makes a statement and claims I said something. I am married and use to having everything I say be disagreed with by my wife. But it is another thing to put words in my mouth and spew it out as if it is what I said.

I enjoy the banter even the posters as yourself that try and bate me into an arguement and take no offense on that.

As I have said recruiting is only part of the equation. They need coaching during games and practice, development, and support. Something the UA staff and Saban do very well. A team can recruit all the talent in the world and it will never guarantee success.:)

As long as you realize you're not above contradicting yourself, hey I'm not either! Peace . For the record you are making a large assumption if you think I attempt to "bate" you into anything. One can disagree with another and not get hurt over it.

This crap is getting out of hand, there's all these bammer/uga debates on 4 or more player threads. I just don't get why its not removed like it has been when ppl (vols) get off topic and mods remove. But not this.

How is an argument that is (mostly) about Brendan Langley off topic in a Brendan Langley thread?

This isn't off topic. It's about this kid and it's a good debate between two posters that bring good info. TW got called out about Langley and it is what it is. No problem here.........

my last post pretty explained the situation with Langley and Smith. neither one is the #1 CB on Bama's board but they are 2 of the top 3 on the board they feel they have a great chance to get. Both are very good players. what Bama likes about Langley is his size (6'0-6'1 CBs) to go along with legit speed, long arms, awareness , etc. Smith is pretty much in the same mold, an inch shorter probably and arms arent as long, but what makes him stand out is the fact the he is physical at the line of scrimmage and anyone that knows how Saban likes his DBs,know he likes them to be physical at the line. some schools were recruiting at safety as well. The things is that u cant go wrong with either, both are very good CBs and would be a great get for any team.

I dont know where BL is on UA board but, I was at the UA camp and Saban worked with BL personaly more than anyone else all 4 days, it could have been because he was constantly getting beat though.

"They're definitely the close second. After I finish my visits at the end of the summer we'll see. But, for right now it's looking like Tennessee and Alabama and maybe South Carolina. But, definitely Alabama and Tennessee are at the top," Langley said.

"After multiple times being up here it just gets better and better each time I'm up here. I kind of have some ties here so I get the inside scoop, so that's another good thing," Langley said. "With Alabama being my leader and with coach Sunseri and coach Ansley coming from there the schemes are similar. Drills, techniques are extremely similar. It's not looking too shabby."

"I'm just taking it day-by-day. I could commit right now. I could commit tonight. I'm just kind of taking how it goes. But, the time-frame is August 25,"Langley said. "But, for you guys and everyone who's going to read this don't be surprised if it's earlier."

If he does not go to DawgNight than I would say UGA is out of it, and something must have happen between the 2. But if he goes I would wager they come out on top with him saying everything is straight. If he comes away from that and UGA is still not his leader it could become interesting.

he is high on the list, at least top 5 on the CB board

If this kid makes his choice on the 25th, i wouldnt put to much stock in that decision. He just seems wishy washy to me and wouldnt be surprised one bit if he changes that choice at some point.

Langley just posted this on twitter and it was retweeted by Kieth N of Rivals...

"@b_langley: If you're a QB the Pac-12 is where you wanna be"

I wouldn't hate it at all if this kid wanted to suit up in orange on saturdays!!
