'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

Maybe he's just running low on cash this weekend and needed it paid for. I wouldn't draw anything positive from this being an OV or not.

Never know, could mean anything. Him taking the official this weekend may just mean he is ready to end his recruitment now. Maybe he will pick Bama while he is there this week. Maybe he is ready to pick UT and would not need to take another visit to Bama. As you said, it could be a cash flow thing as well. I would think if he were running low on cash, he would visit Auburn or Clemson though.

We'll soon find out unless he decides to push the date out again which I would interpret as a good thing for us.

JUST copied this from bamas 247 site (nonsubscription part of it):

Henry will take his official visit to Alabama this weekend

Trying to find that link if you have it.

This is from Rivals on Wednesday fwiw.

He'll take an unofficial visit this weekend to the Capstone

I hope it is an OV, but either way is fine.:hi:

NATIONAL RUSHING RECORD WATCH: Yulee's Derrick Henry now has 420 yards rushing...late in the 3rd Quarter against Andrew Jackson

Henry ran for over 500yds tonite which puts him in 1st for all rushing yds in FL. He now has over 9000 career rushing yds and passed Emmit Smith tonite. K Taylor technically has more yds career but since over 1500yds came while he was in 8th grade playing HS FHSAA does not recognize those yds. Only yds from 9th to 12th grade.

From a poster on VQ...

I watched Henry play tonight and he passed Emmitt Smith on his second carry of the night when he scampered 70 yards for his first touchdown of the night. he had 190 yards rushing after the 1st quarter and over 300 at halftime. Now the news you are should really be interested in:

In my opinion Henry will be a VOL. I spoke with someone close to the young man tonight who told me that although he would love to be a Gator he does not want to be an H back. The Gator coaching staff told Henry that they have the two backs they want but would love to use him as an H back or move him to linebacker. The kid is 6'4 and can fly. Henry really likes UT and feels like he can help immediately. While rumors are strong that he will sign with Bama, Henry is skeptical of Saban.

both of them are going to be very good. They way it looks though.. Green may have a more promising college career. Especially if Henry ends up at Bammer. He'll sit behind their already stout RB depth, while Green likely starts year one wherever he goes. If they somehow both end up here.. well there are your number 1 and 2 backs. We've had backs both go for 1,000 in one season and we won a LOT of games. Hopefully it comes true, but a Turman/Green combo would be seriously special.
