'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

I think that this is great news for the Vols!! Now we just need to win big and dog stomp the Gators while he is visiting for that game...let him see what he will be playing in front of for 4 years.

In before TW comes here and tells us his reasoning behind why Henry is waiting to announce his commitment to Bama in Sept. :p

I have a bad feeling on this one, maybe I am a pessamist. I see him announcing in September as him currently thinking he will take one more fun trip to TN for the TN-UF game then let it be know that he is going to Bama.

Don't see why everyone thinks we lead here.

You really don't think we would bring him to a UT-UF game even he was already committed to Bama? He would get treated just the same. If he wanted to go to Bama he would have committed by now. The longer he waits i.e. September, the better for us. Even if right now he wants to go to Bama, another month of CJG talking to him and getting him to think can only help us.

This Kamara/Henry thing is the most delusional nonsense since Wilder Jr.

I agree it does seem somewhat delusional, but I do not think it seems anymore delusional than us actually signing C. Patterson, but we did sign him......

I think the kid wants to go to Bama and with their past two RB's and how much money they are making you can't blame him too much. However, they have the Tenpenny kid committed and TJ Yeldon has the tools to be a an enormously talented back. I think he is waiting to see what happens with Yeldon. If he locks up the top spot for the first two years Henry would be on campus, I don't think he commits to Bama.

Beat Florida, we get him. Lose to Florida, we don't. Could be wrong, but I think that game is what recruits are waiting on.

Not just beat them. Humiliate them. Get neyland rockin and show him what a real stadium sounds like with 102000 fanatics screaming their heads off. That would be a super powerful message for any recruit. Especially afterwards when were 3-0 and then get ranked.

Hey Dune. I believe he is having the problem that myself and a lot of other Vol fans have. Speaking for myself, I have been disappointed so much these last 5 years that I expect bad news. I HATE that.

Sooner or later this will change. It has a chance to change with a good 2012 season. If that happens, we will get some of these great prospects.

The best news now is that UT is at least in the conversation with these top prospects and we are still going after them hard. I can't wait for my f****in gloomy attitude and outlook to change.

I think Henry wants to shut it down after he announces.

This plus I doubt any coach will let him take visits after he commits, because he already decommited from one school because he was not sure. I know the UA staff told him when he came in June that he neds to be 100% without a doubt this time. I would imagine the same will be for CDD if he commits to UT. Hence why at first he wanted to commit in Dec to take his visits.

I realize it's been that way the last couple of years, but there are some differences going into this season compared to Fulmer's last year. You have a coach who's job is on the line and is working way harder than Fulmer did the last five years he was here. We have the same HC in year 3, and if we have a good year, he stays, some form of stability is restored. He has recruited very well given the circumstances. We are a year away from this entire team being all of his recruits. And truth be told with a new training facility, one of the best stadium's in the nation, and a rich tradition, the recruiting should take care of itself.

And don't forget that jones kid they have committed too.. I think he's the #1 all purpose back.. So that's 2 highly rated backs they already have committed, compared to our 0.

He could be our centerpiece of the class and main back.
