'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

How bout we get Henry and Kamara.

I've been thinking that same thing for a long time. It makes sense and would give us a big bruiser with speed and a smaller bruiser with quickness and speed. I would take those two and never look back -- no need to look back since no one is going to catch either of them from behind, lol.

The Crimson Tide entered the visit with the lead for Henry and they exit with an even bigger lead.

"I would say they stretched their lead out a little," Henry said, "I love it over at Alabama. I feel very comfortable there, I love how they run a business, and I love how they operate things."

Announcing the week of Aug 20th.

TW -- Whether he commits to 'Bama or not in the short run, between now and NSD is more than ample time for it to sink in that he will likely not be a RB for the tide.

I may be mistaken, but I don't think he will be happy with that concept when the reality of it sets in, especially when he knows for sure that if he opts for Tennessee, we will give him a legitimate shot at being the man for UT from the beginning.

Well, we went from not even being on the radar for him to being 3rd in his top 3 after his 1st visit. Then, after his 2nd visit and attending camp to work with CJG, we moved past UGA (where he used to be committed to) into 2nd behind Bama. We are still looking up at Bama, but we aren't far IMO from looking them straight in the eye. If we could some how get DH back up to K'ville for another visit before he decides, then I like our chances. If not, then he's probably going to Bama.

Henry is a stud linebacker to Alabama, he just doesn't realize it yet.

Yep but I'm sure he thinks he is good enough to go there and still play. I don't think he has much of a shot to stay at RB at bama, they've got talent oozing out of their nose at the position. I think he will be a good one but they've brought in big-time player after big-time player.

With his size (it's not as easy as just lining him up in the backfield) I'm not even sure if he stays at RB no matter where he goes. Quickness and the ability to read and hit the hole are just as important as being big and strong, and he has to prove, that at his size, he can do it at this level. But he would absolutely have more opportunities to prove that he can here. JMO

Why wouldn't he go to Bama?

He could ride the bench at Ala for 3 yrs or come start immediately at UT. Thats a no brainer. Of course he would probably get atleast 1-2 NC rings there and most likely none here. Think most kids would put starting over NC.

Or he could help earn one here in the near future. Just a thought.

Trust me bro i want that more than anything. There was no greater season than our NC year. I want so badly to have another one of those. But right now i would take a New Years Day bowl win or SEC championship. Gotta start somewhere :)

Wherever Henry commits this time he will not change his mind. The reason when he decommited and most thought he would commit to UA right away he did not. I would wager that it will stick. Plus he will be enrolled at whereever 6 weeks before NSD since he is an EE. His decision has to be made actually 2 months before NSD in mid Dec.

I also like some of the justifications for him picking UT over UA. If he goes to UA he will burried in the depth chart, or never see the field because of depth, or will get moved to LB because there are better RBs at UA. And yes the only reason he would get moved to RB is because he got beat out at RB and burried in the depth.

But yet at UT he would be a legend and bring the NC home. Please explain to me if he could not be a the feature RB at UA how he does all this at UT. I just do not understand how he would not be good enough at one school but yet another. Makes no sense. If Henry is that good he would do it at every school. Just saying.

You guys have a lot of depth at RB and we don't. How is that justification? It's the truth. And no one player (other than cam) is going to bring you a NC by himself. Who said that he could do that by himself?

My thoughts are Ala is loaded at RB and could get buried on the depth chard for a few years or moved to LB. So far we dont have 1RB that can prove he can be the man and tote the Rock. Lane, Bourque, Watson, Neal or Hill could end up proving it but so far nobody has. I really hope Bourque can step up and be a stud. If LSU wanted him at RB then the potential to be a beast is there. We just need a few guys to step up and finally having a true RB coach hopefully helps.
