It's only temporary for the Arkansas fans IMO. They are just scrambling after the Petrino stuff went down. With UGA fans it is like this all the time, day in, day out, year in, year out... I really dont see a fanbase close from a delusional standpoint.

No way is Vandy's fan base delusional.

VOLs' fans talk more about Vandy Sports than Vandy fans do, its actually Sad.

Check out Vandymania or the rivals mainboard and that will tell you all you need to know. They are predicting 8 wins with Kimbrow and Azubike being All SEC players next year.

WDE! Auburn is worse than UGA, IMO. Bammers are the absolute worst, but they've got two BCSNCs in the last three years to back their attitude right now.

But, relatively speaking, most of the SEC fanbases are extraordinarily fervent and this conversation seems to be a bit of the pot calling the kettle black. The "delusion" ebbs and flows as various circumstances come and go. I mean, mattresses were burned in Knoxville.

Let's not act like UGA is the worst. Everyone is bad, including us.

Exactly. Vandy doesn't have the fan base to be considered delusional. Every fan base has delusional fans, sure....but none compare to Georgia's. No other fan base is even remotely close. The only Vol fans that are bothered by Vandy fans are those who are afraid of them improving. Their few fans are irrelevant to me and should be to every Tennessee fan.

I've never had much of a problem with Auburn fans. Been to Jordan-Hare, seen them play Tennessee in Knoxville, was in Vegas last year during the week of the National Championship game where a lot of their fans were.

They aren't nearly as bad as Georgia fans IMO. Georgia fans are very disrespectful and I think a lot of that has to do with them being insecure about their own program. They believe they should have a Top 5 program year in and year out, but in reality they are the most underachieving program in the SEC over at least the last three decades.

Auburn has better overall fans and much more respectable. Plus their 2004 and 2010 seasons obviously far outweigh anything Georgia has done in the last 30 years.

Give me delusion, blind hope and fervent passion over apathy, disenchantment and disinterest any day.

It could be argued that delusion is what makes the SEC great.

Absolutely but their are clear levels of delusion IMO among the SEC schools. Some are so over the top you can't even have a legitimate, unbaised, realistic conversation with them about anything. This board is proof of that.

Vandy fans are funny but nothing compares to UGA fans. Most fanbases acknowledge when their team is overrated or sucks but not the dawgs. Each year they come up with excuses for the previous year(s). UT,UF,Bama and Aub can at least say they've won something meaningful since interweb and ESPN in every household. UGA is a non-revenue sports winner that happens to play football.

In September UT fans will come across another fanbase that's delusional.....N.C. State. They held a parade in Raleigh after one of the Phillip Rivers years where they finished 4th in the ACC.

^^ that's a good point ^^. Standing alone that's true.....but after they had such a "great" season they anointed themselves as a football power.
