'13 FL RB AJ Turman (UGA commit)

The effectiveness of our defensive coordinator and scheme cannot be judged till next year. 3-4 takes time to learn. When the players can play loose without thinking too much and we can implement more blitzes and disguised coverages, I expect we will look completely different. Dooley has done well to build an offense that can cover up our deficiencies against most (not all) teams. Next year could be special if our stars stick around.

(Cue "*" not ready/is ready" debate)

Sentimore and McNeil might be in that group next year, and hopefully Bonner. We don't need the entire roster to be superstars, but 1 or 2 difference makers at each position can go a long way. We need one more on the DL and 2 or 3 in the secondary to be an adequate defense.

Yes we do need the entire roster as superstars if possible. Glue guys are for suckers. We need a whole secondary of playmakers.

I expect to see a turn around in the defense after this bye week. Dooley has always done a good job of making personnel changes during the bye and getting the younger guys who weren't quite ready up to speed. I bet we see more of Bonner, Thomas, and a whole hell of a lot of McNeil in the secondary. I could be wrong, but I just have a good feeling about this defense coming out of the bye week.

I think you'll see Daniel Gray before you see Thomas.

From UGA Rivals site:
"I don't know my totals this year, but my first game I think I had like 270 yards," said Turman. "Then the second game I think it was around 210 yards, and the third game was like 150 (yards). I just passed 4,000 career yards last game."
"I didn't make it this weekend. My parents couldn't get the time off. I really wanted to make it up there for that big game against Tennessee," he said. "I'm pretty sure I'll be back for the Ole Miss game. I really want to get back up there and see the school again and everything. I want to see how the intensity is for a home game. I've never been to a Georgia game and I'm very excited for it."
"I thought their running backs played great and it was a good game. That is the kind of offense I would like to be in. The running backs get the ball a lot. I like that that they get the ball in different areas of the field, too," said Turman. "I really like that they give freshman running backs a chance to do there thing. Those freshmen running backs really showed up, too, and earned their shot."
"It feels good. All the hard work is paying off and everything," he said. "It feels good and I'm definitely happy about it.

idk why they would take 2 RBs this year, I see them getting 1 and its probly kamara. imo

They aren't deep at all. They need 2. I'd just be surprised if 2 top tier backs want to go there when they have two top tier freshmen already.

They've got the mentality that they'll come in and play/take major minutes. They've got a 2014 back committed that's pretty nice too.

I guess never having been an elite running back, I have trouble grasping the mentality that you can replace two superstar backs ahead of you. They'll always have a better understanding of the offense and more experience, so you'd have to be that much better than them physically to unseat them. Unless someone gets injured or a bruising, BIG back comes in to offer a different style, UGA will be set at RB for three years.
