'13 FL RB AJ Turman (UGA commit)

So (assuming the staff knows something positive re Green) did Turman pull the trigger just to beat Henry to the punch?

Me too. I have not watched a lot of video of Henry, but the little that I have seen left me thinking that Henry would make a good TE with that body of his.

That's the thing about Henry tho. I would hate to lose him to bama because he could be an all SEC player at potentially about 5 positions haha (DE, OLB, RB, H-Back, TE)

Turman very well could end up being the more succesful RB throughout college, but it is tough to pass on a talent like Henry IMO.

We get Green and Turman we're back in business. That would be the best power running duo to sign in this class. Turman sheds tackles like water and Green punishes people. Now add that to a Lane at RB and we're cooking.

Then we'll have a Pig Howard at WR(who'll be just as big a playmaker as the big two) and Bowles, Croom, Blanc, Harris, and maybe North(hopefully we pull him).

In two years this offense will be better than this current unit if Dooley wins this year and gets a more fluid playcaller in the booth. Also depends on how the OL gels as a group too. They are the key because if the can just make a hole a trio of Lane, Green, and Turman will make plays.

This is all speculation though and me hoping Dooley and crew gets it together this year. Really hope we pull it out this week.

This would make a huge difference in the current offense now. At least someone that can make adjustments to different defenses. The current play caller just keeps showing his hand to much making it easy for defenses to figure out.

A lot of if's, though.

And our QB won't be better in two years, the line will be less talented, no star receivers, and no TE's.

The only thing "better" would be RB. And probably WR depth.

Could just be my ignorance, but I'm worried about our OL in two years. I see a talent drop off from where we are now. Richardson and Sanders will be great, but the inside guys on our roster and the ones in this class just don't seem like they'll be as good the ones we have now.

Disagree on the WR group. Even if CP leaves, we will have three VERY good WR instead of two. If he stays, which I think is likely, our group as a whole will be better, IMO.

Edit sorry you referenced the in two years part. Still, I think in two years we will be as good at WR as a group.

I think they'll be good, but there are very few Justin Hunters.

I personally think Peterman will be a very good QB, potentially better than Bray.

I don't know about that. His arm isn't as good.

He'll probably have a better grasp of the offense though. The bar isn't set very high.

It's rare to see an arm as good as Bray's. Arm's good enough, and he can make things happen with his feet, unlike Bray.

I do agree on the bar not being set high. He'll also be able to read defenses better.

No idea where any of this is coming from. Peterman probably has more potential in this league than Bray. He has a very good arm, and obviously, he can create with his legs.

Jay can probably contribute more input, but from everything I've read, Peterman can be the real deal.

His film suggests his arm is very good. His legs are 10x better, and he seems to handle pressure better. And as you said, he seems to be smarter. Bray coming out of HS is not as good as Peterman coming out of HS, IMO, except in arm strength. Bray has gotten much more accurate since his freshmen year. No one in college has as good an arm as Bray, arguably anyway.

I agree. Especially when it will come to the offensive line. There will definitely be a drop off at WR among the #1 and #2 guys. This is a special 1-2 punch at WR and it would be really bad if this is another disappointing season with talent like that. WR depth might be better in a couple years but they wont have near the talent at their #1 and #2 WR spots.

So what if the WR talent drops off a little? CPs and JHs don't grow on trees. Hopefully, overall, our team will be better. The same could be said for USC's offense. Lees and Woods' don't grow on trees. There is so much reliance on CP and JH to produce, it's unrealistic at times.

While I agree, I think you're downplaying the importance of having VERY good talent at the 3 and 4 spots. Elite 1 and 2 is good, but below average 3 and 4 hurts us. Having maybe an elite 1 and a great 2 3 4 will make our situation close to as good as our current one. Assuming of course our freshmen reach their potential.

Not sure how we can say there will be no star receivers in two years. That was a mighty fine class last year. And a senior Brendan Downs will resemble a Stocker/Witten type tight end. Plus who knows who else we will sign between now and then.
