I will say that I agree with you that we should have kept Zanca as I feel at his size and speed, he transitions well to the SEC. I would not attack the coaching staff as you did, but I understand your frustration and would guess your close to DZ's situation. If we do not land at least 2 more LB's in this class, I think it will prove to have been a mistake to drop DZ and CG. The move also cost us RK IMO. The staff is going to do what they think is best and we as fans can either support it or find another team. I bleed Orange so I am going to roll with CBJ and what he chooses to do.

No offense but I liked Zanca too...maybe he just didn't fit what CBJ wanted to do on defense. But to slander Coach Jones on character is just plain dumb. Maybe he hasn't been at any school long because it's not a school like UT. I truly believe CBJ could be a lifer here he just plain loves it here, just listen to the man talk about UT. But you have your opinion and I have mine. I back Coach Jones anyday of the week. And Coach Martinez is a good pick to take over those Florida ties You talked about.:hi:

No Zanca and Vereen were just the only close enough guys for me to drive and watch live. I guest I like going to Live Footbll games that don't cost me a few hundred dollars to attend. That makes losses hard to deal with. I guess after going to these game I must have found myself wanting to see him in Orange. He was Nasty Defender it seems he took every play personal and I like to see that Ray Lewis type of player on te field for my team for once.

Considering 1 is a DE and the other is a MLB, I would. Zanca has some great film and he runs very well for a 250lb LB. I understand that CBJ seems to like the idea of smaller quicker LBs. My concern with that is we all saw what happened to his LBs at UC VS Tennessee. IMO, Zanca should be in Orange.

Oh yeah one other thing...why is anyone talking about loyalty in college sports? Players flip to different schools all the time so crying about 1 guy who decided to go to an academic institution like Duke is doing what's best for him...if you want loyalty college and pro sports shouldn't be your hobbies. I'd suggest getting a dog.

Just curious not trying to start anything, but how come the big three in Florida aren't knocking the door down for him? So called elite players also do not commit to teams like Duke unless there is something going on behind the scenes. :twocents:

Lawson can stand up..and as far as Zanca I'm not too torn up about him leaving. I think it's just nitpicking over a prospect that will have little impact. Butch didn't evaluate the kid...Dooley did...when we still have an iron in the fire for big time prospects who wants to get torn up about this guy?

Zanca finished 2012 with some impressive numbers. Given our lack of depth at ILB bad move letting both Goeas and Zanca go. Oh, that's right they don't fit the "system", yet non-rated collegiate VB players turned JUCO TE do? Uh, okay.
