'13 FL LB Dominic Zanca (Duke commit)

"I decided on it yesterday," Zanca told Devils Illustrated. "I called coach (Jim) Collins yesterday and said, 'Reserve me a jersey. I want to go to Duke.'"

"You just ultimately have to go where you feel you fit best at," he said. "All the staff changes at Tennessee were a big deal to me. I decided to take my talents to Duke."

"I love the staff," he said. "They're awesome people. The facilities are good, the campus is awesome and the education can't be beat."

Zanca registered 65 solo tackles, 17 tackles for loss and nine sacks this fall.

Now that's funny (and sad at the same time for Vol fans). Regardless, best of luck to Dominic - seems like the type of player who will keep improving.

Santos was the #1 lb on the most clueless scouting service. He wasn't even a top 10 inside LB on any other service. Zanca was an EE at a position of need, that shed blocks better than some of our current players, and had a good senior season in his first year playing mlb full time.

Zanca isn't ranked anywhere. Santos also had a damn good offer list. It's pretty telling when you're from FL and your only other offer is Perdue. Not trying to bash the kid, but it's better for both parties that he flipped.

I would like to say we completely bought in to Tenn and there is no love lost there is zero members of the staff that we committed to including office people with that being said Dominic was not a priority to the new staff. It is why we had started setting trips up after the Vandy game incase this were to happen. But after this weekend we canceled the next trip as he found the new school he wanted to attend and can be EE other schools could not get that done in due time. We love reading both the haters and the fans that appreciated his play. I will watch this class closely as I came to be a fan of all the commits. Good luck Vol fans. And if anyone interested I have plenty of orange for sale LOL. For you guys that like to look at a kids offer list I have not seen a list of Dominic's that is remotely close. The kids report those to the sites a kid that is committed could care less about what the respected site says. His list is closer to 12 from all major conferences.

Well maybe they just told him we are fixing to pull in some big boy recruits and you don't cut it. So bye lol at least thats how I'm taking it. Optimism does wonders

Best of luck to Dominic, liked his film and he was my second favorite LB committ behind Vereen. Have a feeling he will have a very good career under coach Cutcliffe, and know that he will get a great education at Duke. Feel free to keep us updated, don't typically get to see Duke play that much.
