'13 FL LB Dominic Zanca (Duke commit)

Olympia is a team full of D-1 talent beat that (Corey Vereen's West Orange Team) and Tonight Olympia take's their Offensive POWER HOUSE to introduce themselves to Vereen's future Volunteer teammate Dominic Zanca and the Lake Brantley Patriots. Olympia's John Armstrong and the Titans average 30 points and 405 yards.

Can Zanca contain John Armstrong's 5 TDs help Olympia beat W. Orange

Game of the Week I will be attending this game for sure. Zanca will need to bring the hammer which he seems to have on him at all times. I will be watching to see if he can control this aggression when things get very tough tonight against a battle tested group that is as relentless he is. Battle of the Wills one of the State's Top Defensive against one of the States Top offense.

Olympia's high-powered offense features running back John Armstrong.

Titans, ranked No. 7 in the Sentinel Super 16, take on No. 6 Lake Brantley (5-1)

"My blood pressure is through the roof," Titans coach Bob Head said. "It's a war every week. We can never relax."

Olympia lost to No. 1 Dr. Phillips, No. 2 Timber Creek and No. 5 Freedom. Still, no team in the area is in a better playoff position than the Titans, who are 2-0 in Class 8A, District 4 and have victories against top contenders Apopka and West Orange. Apopka was one of only team to beat Lake Brantley in over two years.

Lake Brantley Football vs. Olympia Box Score 10/12/2012 - MaxPreps

DOMINIC ZANCA - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl

Zanca had 11 tackles 3 TFL 1 fumble recover (57 yard return)
Team Defense infact gave up 382 yards in the game but if you take a look at the box score notice three longest plays notice longs of 65,68 (pass) and rush for 69 yards (202 on 3 plays) great team def vs a school who runs a offense like Oregan meaning fast pace they had 52 total snaps on offense with plenty of Athletes

Ok, I need to eat some crow here. Zanca is a BEAST, I was very very high on Santos but Zanca is better. He is just as violent as Santos is, moves better, & is in better shape. I really hope none of the Big 3 of the Florida schools come in at the last second in this one. We flat out stole this kid from under them.

I was critical of our LB commits early, but after seeing some clips of these guys SR film so far & seeing their stats idk how anyone can deny Sals ability to spot LB's. Dude was a 3 year starter at Pitt on a defense that led the NCAA in total defense in back to back years & was a All-American, was drafted by the Steelers, has coach LB's for 15 years at Pitt, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Alabama, & now Tennessee.

The jury is still out on him as a DC but dude can spot & coach LB's.

He's more violent than good ole Santos. :)

Whoever is in charge of updating his Hudl page is doing an amazing job...this kids final senior highlight is going to be amazing...it would be if he didn't play another game this year but I've got a feeling he's going to keep adding to that reel...notice his numbers from the last two games...I think he's learning the position more and more as the year goes by an its showing in the stats

Thought this was interesting...the coaches are looking to take one MLB each recruiting cycle that is a big LB (that may lack an incredible 40 time) specifically for facing heavy rushing teams such as Bama, LSU, etc. AJ Johnson has more versatility, but he was the '11 guy, Santos was going to be the '12 guy, and Zanca is the '13 guy.

Oh thought you watched your boy get trucked pretty bad today. So much for all that talk of big hitting. Hell Texas makes us look like a sound tackling squad.

Wish we could play texas every year...

Battle of the UTs

Cowboys stadium and in Atlanta/Nashville

I know Jerry would pay. Would be cool :)

I guess the film speaks for itself, But Cajuns post earlier covered it just as I would have stated. Team Domination with The Titans having olny 3 big plays besides thats going to happen with the studs they had. But Brantley and Zanca made the high powered offense look as if they didn't want to be there. They had Great Athletes very fast that anyone can only hope to contain. I just really think that teams are scared after they feel the aggression and power. As I stated in an earlier post it's like the school yard bully factor. Now I realize it is growing exponentially. As a leader Dominic has his team acting with a mob mantality. They feel or know they are just touger and seem to let the other teams know they soundn't be out there unless they are going to bang. I've seen overthe last 3 weeks every team had at least the best 4 athletes on the field yet not even half the heart as Zanca's team. I hope Zanca brings good leadership along with beast mode I don't doubt he is always going to live in beast mode. But if he leads the team earlier through his actions the Vols will want to follow and just get that nastiness it take. The Team will at some point be called THE TENASTEE VOLUTARY BEAST SQUAD.

I did learn alot talking to a few dads on the sidelines I am checking the facts before I report it. Just personally interesting information about Zanca. I think if just half of it is true you will be happily surprised. :good!:

Oh,Iwill also post a little funny picture I put together up if I can figure out how to do it. Volnation will find it funny I don't know about anyone else...

Rivals.com analyst Kynon Codrington addresses questions from readers in his Southeast mailbag.

What are your thoughts on Tennessee commits Corey Vereen and Dominic Zanca and do you see either getting a bump in the next rankings release?
-- Tim, Norcoss, Ga.

I think both prospects fit Tennessee's 3-4 defensive scheme. Vereen is an ideal outside linebacker that can put his hand on the ground and rush the passer on third down. Zanca has prototypical Mike linebacker size and strength.

Dominic Zanca has verbally committed to Tennessee.
Vereen has excellent speed off the edge and is very agile. He offers scheme versatility and in a 4-3 defense, he could be a solid end. The three-star 'backer has a great motor and plays with good leverage.

Zanca is bigger and is a powerful run stuffing MLB. He plays with a nasty streak and is quick to deliver a big hit on would-be ball carriers. He is a sure tackler and drives his opponent backwards on contact. He could slide down to defensive end depending on if he adds bulk and mass.

I feel both players are good additions to this class. I expect them to be key contributors for the Vols in the future. Of course, Dooley's fate may depend on the final three SEC games. They should be favored in all but one when they take on Vanderbilt on the road. A win against the Commodores will show recruits that Dooley has the program headed in the right direction.

Wow! its going to take a win over Vandy to show that Dooley has the program in the right direction we have really hit rock bottom.

P Fort just posted Zanca's regular season highlights in the GQ. The play at 1:07 is my favorite. He definitely looks the part.
