So he mentions UT and USCe even though he is commited to FSU? Oh yeah "commitment" ain't the same. But... I'll take him.

He makes good adjustments on the ball in coverage. I'd like to see some better tackling technique from him. What kind of competition does he play against?

5'9 is kinda short for what we have recruited lately. Wonder if he is projected at corner for us.

He's awefully small for a DB. I would pass...we are in on better prospects IMO.

Lets steal him from FSU!

Please steal this guy from us!

Here's his most recent combine numbers:

5'-8" 3/4 160 lbs. * edited
4.85 40 yd. dash
29" Vertical
1 rep. Bench

Under Armour - Sojourn Shelton - Defensive Back

Florida has too many better CB's for FSU to have accepted his commitment so soon.

He's too small and slow. Tennessee can do better than this.

He'll never see the field. Especially in the SEC.

This is from the kid's local paper:
First impressions from Plantation football coach Steve Davis is that the Colonels will have a defense that will keep it in games.

Davis said he's been pleased with the prospects of his secondary. Described as speedy and instinctual, the unit is spearheaded by junior Sojourn Shelton. The 5-foot-9, 165 pound cornerback gave a verbal commitment to Florida State University in June. Davis says Shelton has "some of the best feet he's seen on this level," and runs a 4.5 40-yard dash.

If Mark Stoops wants him that's good enough for me. I'd say getting into a college strength and conditioning program as well as having a proper nutrition available will help him.

Its not unusual for a kid to have a bad day when they get those numbers. Hurting, sick, any other combination of things. I have no idea if they are accurate. I am just saying its hilarious how we just take those one set of numbers at face value and state how awful the kid is at football.

No one said those numbers meant he was bad at football. I was simply stating that those number/measureables were awful. Not even close to being what a D1 athlete should be doing. He might be a great football player, but those numbers tell me he isn't the best athlete. He definitely has room to grow for sure. That vertical jump and bench press rep is bad, sick or not.

Committed to Wisconsin...recruited by Jancek at Cincinnati and had UT offer. May be a name to watch.
