03/22/2012 - LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne said he will have surgery on his left wrist Friday to repair a torn ligament, according to the Times Picayune. NFLDraftScout.com's No. 1-rated cornerback, Claiborne said he suffered the injury during LSU's 9-6 win over Alabama but played through it the remainder of the season. He didn't mention the injury at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last month. Claiborne, who ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at Friday's Pro Day, improving on his unofficial time of 4.47 at the Combine, is currently project to go No. 6 to St. Louis by Rob Rang and No. 4 to Cleveland by Dane Brugler in their current Mock Drafts. Claiborne said he has also been invited by the NFL to be at the first day of the draft in New York City on April 26. "It will be my first time going up there," he said. "I'll be going with my family and we're going to try and enjoy it. Coach Miles is going with me. "I'm very excited. As a kid you dreasm about those things, going up to New York, being in the Green Room, bringing your family." - Derek Harper, The Sports Xchange

So has mac scheduled any visits with us? Are we still in the hunt for this kid or what? I know when he commited he was a very soft verbal and most seen it coming when he pulled his commitment but I was wondering who his favorites are.

Jhahaha.... He ran a 4.5 at the 1st combine but knocked off a tenth of it last week on the 22nd..... 4.39 ser:hi:

Their was only one combine. At his pro day he did run a 4.39 but i trust pro day times just a little more than scout.com's old 40 times which were horribly wrong. Everyone knocks down there 40 times at these workouts, the combine times we at least know for certain are legit.

Scouts take whatever time is lowest whether pro-day or combine so if his pro day time is lower than the combine time than that is what will be used in his eval

Pro Day Times are definitely Legit.

Maybe legit is not the word. There are so many different types of tracks that are considered faster than others and wind is also a factor. Call me skeptical but I have NEVER seen someone run slower at a pro day that the combine. That just seems fishy.

because NFL combine clock starts on 1st movement. so that could include arm twitching backwards or a rock back.

thankfully, I know people who actually went to the NFL combine and were instructed on how it works, so I can just ignore this goofball

thats why there's a moderator at the very start of the run who brings guys back who do rolling starts etc...

INDIANAPOLIS - As the skill position players prepare to take their shot at breaking the 40-yard dash record Sunday in the most anticipated annual event at the Scouting Combine, confusion continues to permeate the instant results.

NFL.com is reporting the times, first an "unofficial" clocking shortly after prospects run and later an "official" time. A source told NFLDraftScout.com that the first clocking is a hand-held time and the second comes from National Football Scouting, which conducts the event and distributes the official reports to NFL teams.

Of the 36 offensive linemen NFLDraftScout.com noted unofficial and official times for Saturday, 33 had slower times in the official listing, three were the same and none were listed as faster than their unofficial timing. Sixteen players had an official time at least a tenth of a second slower than their official time, led by Georgia's Cordy Glenn, who dropped 0.19 seconds from a blistering 4.96 to a 5.15, still highly impressive for a 345-pound man.

However, that's still not Glenn's "official" time.

Those who participate in the 40 run twice, and on each run they are timed by two hand-held stopwatches and one electronic timer (that is actually initiated by hand on the player's first movement). Combine data put together for NFL teams by National Scouting includes all six of those times for each player, but no single official time.

That information isn't typically known for a week or two following the conclusion of the Combine, and it's not known what number is being provided to the NFL Network and NFL.com during the event.

It's an important asterisk to consider when the speedsters take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

While Chris Johnson is widely reported to hold the Combine "record" in the 40-yard dash, documented data by NFLDraftScout.com shows Trindon Holliday's 4.21 in 2010 to be the fastest clocking since 2000 (Johnson ran a 4.24 in 2008). The fastest verifiable time in Combine history was a 4.12 by Bo Jackson in 1986 on manual stopwatches in the Superdome.

Saturday's 40 action was topped by Oklahoma tight end James Hanna, who posted a 4.49, according to NFL.com. Georgia's Orson Charles, who lifted 225 pounds a staggering 35 times on Friday, chose not to run the 40.

+1

This is true. I remember Joe Haden running like 4.55 and 4.61 at the combine. Then at his pro day he was easily in the 4.4s. That why some guys don't run at the combine.

SN: rolling starts are the best. Lol

Dont understand why i would be considered a "goofball" because the facts that were available to non insiders or people who dont know guys in the combine do lead to their being something different. With that said i hope both you and Mr. Ocean drown to death.:good!:

Take the baby off the bottle ws6 if you're not scared. Lol

It gets down off the bottle to but I like that hit. Don't hate on the bottle. It's under the knife at the now, I'm steppin my game up with some extra cubes. I only go to the track now. There is just too much risk on the street.

I don't drag race or street race just grew up in it. Seen some wild stuff on the street racing scene though. I do want to get a 1967 Chevy II Nova and drop a 420 SB stroker in it though.
