' 13 FL CB Mackensie Alexander

Vol fans are funny...teh kid carries offers from the Big 3 and tOSU so it's not like he was under the radar or UT was his first visit. He's camped with muschamp, Fisher and Urbs. Yes, It's going to be a battle I can tell you but if the kid didn't want to commit he would have held off. just my $.02 :peace2:

The only thing I'm worried about is his parents wanting him to stay in state. Dooley has time to make his parents love him.

that kid's 16? good lord..

chose UT from a pool of big time offers especially homestate UF and Miami, gotta feel real good about this one.

"Alexander is an athlete that is just natural. When he’s on the field, you notice him, not from a physical standpoint but just in the way he moves. He is effortless out of his backpedal and closes on the ball in a flash. Alexander also has good size and is part of a fantastic Immokalee junior class. "-Barton Simmons from AA Combine.

HG or Jay, what are your thoughts on Deadrin Senat? I've heard his name come up a lot.

Country Strong..benches over 400 pounds and squats 525. Ideal 3-4 NT his name is starting to make the rounds after this past season. He's going to blowup imo.

"Three-star defensive tackle Deadrin Senat (Immokalee, Fla.) is getting interest from Miami (Fla.), Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech and FIU. He measured in at 6-foot-2, 311 pounds and had 67 tackles and eight sacks last season." 247

We're recruiting him pretty hard. Hopefully landing Alexander gives us a leg up.

Sounds like a good pickup to me. These are definitely the type of players you accept the commitments from. Even if it's early. I hope he sticks with UT until he signs.

Does this guy have a twin brother? Mackenro? I was searching Mackensie then saw what i thought was the same name under safeties, but it was Mackenro Alexander. Sorry if this is a repeat

Given the fact that this kid is from Florida and knowing Shannon has such strong ties to Florida, does anyone else think Shannon could really be the new DC? Kinda odd getting a commitment from this kid right at the same time we are currently searching for a DC.

No. Don't believe the hype.

However, if there was one player that would have pushed both Wilson and Sims for all they were worth at receiver it was Robert Foster of Monaca, Pa. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound receiver was probably the camp's top wideout and gave fits to every cornerback he went head up with the exception of Imokalee, Fla. star Mackensie Alexander, who showed out as potentially an elite cover corner.

Also from the same article:

If there was one corner aside from Fuller that seemed up for the challenge it was Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven standout Darrius Sims who showed off impressive footwork and great burst in his attempts at coverage. In spite of a somewhat limited frame, he also showed willingness to compete and never looked physically overmatched against the camp's numerous jumbo-receivers.

Didn't see a thread for him, so thought I'd post.

I think you're looking at a top 250-guy with definite four-star potential, from what I've been told. Don't hold me to it because I have nothing to do with the rankings, though. But, I think that's where he'll start at.

I told HG he was my favorite of the young guys he told me to watch for. He's doing exactly what I thought he would do. Just a very good CB. And he's coached up pretty well.
