'13 FL ATH Lemond Johnson (UT Commit 12/16/12)

If this guy were playing HS football in TN he would be a 4star. I think an offer list is much better way to grade recruits.

Stars? I gotcha stars right here.

Great pick up!

This is an OK get, not bad, not great, just like our staff. At some point, you all have to stop the cycle for every new hire of pumping up the a situation to what they are not simply because of "hope" and "thinking positive" or "being a good fan".

Jones gets a pass this year for recruiting since he just started now, but people need to stop blowing sunshine out of their rear and start talking logically. Johnson is filler, which you need, but his chances of making the NFL are much less than Da'Rick, who is leaving a year early to be drafted in April.

I love the hire of Butch Jones and I trust him to hire the staff and bring in the players he thinks will make his system work.

There has only been one coaching hire in the past twenty-thirty yrs that has been a pretty much a guaranteed success and that was nick Saban when he came back from the Dolphins.....The rest have had questions.....Butch is a proven winner....tireless worker.....and is very confident in his self and his staff....he will win here.

This is an OK recruit coming from coaches that were at a down program that are now here. His compilation rating is #80 player in the state of FL and #31 safety in the nation. May want to curb some of your enthusiasm until Jones actually gets a high ranking recruit.

If the kid is willing to learn how to tackle, I am glad to have him in this class. That would be a huge improvement over the last few years.

If Kiffin had stuck around we would be on a bowl ban, limited # if scholarships & in serious trouble with the NCAA. It's amazing how everyone talks about how great he recruited here yet he was blatantly cheating (evidence by us being on probation) & the majority of kids he signed were flops or thugs.

His recruits have definitely proven to be more impressive on NSD than any game day since as a group.

People miss what you say here too often. The reason it is true is that he never believed in UT. He believed that UT's distinctives/traditions needed to be changed or discarded... and that you could not win in K'ville without pushing the rules and doing outlandish things to get attention.

One of the more intelligent posts I have read on here. I agree. I just want them to learn the findamentals like tackling, keeping the ball carrier and receiver in front of you, taking correct angles, etc. Sad that it has come to that, but that is where they find themselves on defense.

The ratings are usually right (top 10 teams bring in top 10 classes), but you can't base your opinion solely on the star rating. This guy has a good offer list, plays against good competition, and is a great athlete with the speed we require to play in the SEC. This is a great pickup.

BTW, on Rivals, he is .01 away from being a 4 star, if it makes anyone feel better.

Highlights

Anyone who hasn't seen the catch at the beginning of this vid needs to watch it, it's pretty awesome.

I hate Kiffin as much as everyone else but if he stuck around we'd be competing already and preparing for a upcoming bowl game.

Oh yeah I forgot. The guy coaching USC. That's the team that was one of the favorites to win the national championship and go undefeated right? What happened to them again?
