'13 FL ATH Lemond Johnson (UT Commit 12/16/12)

Welcome to Big Orange Country LJ! We need alot of help in the back 4. He looks like he would fit right in. CBJ 1st commit falls to us as he wanted to enroll early and AU was going to make him wait. We'll take it.

"Yesterday I actually came back from the visit and talked to my mom and my parents about it and then when to church today and talked about it after church a little bit more and I just made my decision and I did it today. No sense in wasting time," Johnson said.

"Just definitely seeing that they have a lot of things that help you after football like they have the NFL scouts coming in and the Vol for Life program," Johnson said. "Stuff like that was pretty big for me. And the facilities are nice and it's hard not to succeed there so that's a good thing."

"I always had a good relationship with coach Martinez and the defensive coordinator is a great guy," Johnson said. "Being with him the whole weekend I got to know him really good and we just had a good time. And then coach Jones, he's a good guy and I had a meeting with him and he's real laid back and real easy to get to know type of guy."

"They talked about me playing safety and nickel and being able to move around. I actually played a whole lot of things, played a whole lot of positions and I'm able to move around and play a whole lot of things on defense," Johnson said. "Just able to cover and be able to play man at the same time, just playing safety and nickel is what we talked about."

"Just getting to know the defense and learn the schemes and getting in there early and working out early, getting that college work out and learn everything earlier than other people coming in and just getting in early and being able to play early," Johnson offered.

And there's a chance Johnson could see time as a freshman if he works at it during the winter, spring and summer.

"They were just talking about I'm in a great position to come in and do what I need to do on the field and be able to be in position and then maybe get starting time if I can show them what I do," he said.

since when do three star recruits garner multiple booms???

rosters full of 3 star athletes WILL NOT bring Tennessee back to prominence.

He's a 5.7 (3 star) on Rivals if he was a 5.8 he would be a 4 star. You really think there is a big difference? Besides that it's one kid not a roster full. Chances are good that had he been able to concentrate on one position in high school instead of playing 4-5 different positions he would be a 4 star recruit. I say all recruits that commit to Tennessee are worth multiple booms.

Hope they get him the right sized shoes. Tired of seeing dbs stuck in the mud. Does this kid have good football speed?

I am a big fan of Lemond Johnson. I followed the kid all season and every week he was having a big game rushing, or receiving, or playing defense. Johnson played QB, RB, WR, DE, LB and S this season that I can remember. He played everywhere and his father tells me his senior highlight film should be extremely impressive.

He's a solid kid from solid parents, too.

Just thought I'd give my two cents having dealt with him for awhile now. I think he's a really good athlete.

Its one thing to take a commit from a three star with just two or three offers but this guy was committed to Auburn has over 20 offers including LSU, Vandy, Kentucky, NC State, Boston College, Indiana, Illinois etc...

On rivals he is one point away from a 4th star!
