'13 CA TE Chauntez Jackson (decommitted from UT, committed to Houston)

Considering the kid already plays football I believe he will be just fine.

He has played one year of college ball and was his first year playing since his freshman year in HS. Not exactly what I would call a seasoned veteran of the sport.

I think a gymnast is a great athlete, but I wouldn't recruit one to play football. Different sports. Never heard of a volleyball player getting hit by the opposing team.

I have heard volleyball players reaching the ball at its peak and having great ball skills. It is not all about being hit. It is about being athletic enough to make a play on a ball. Just look how important athletic TE's are in the NFL- Gonzalez, Zach Miller, etc. all were integral in this weekend's games.

Watch his highlight film the kid takes quite a few licks. Take your weak argument elsewhere.

I don't have to take my opinion anywhere. You don't like it don't respond. Sorry, all you have for your 'strong' argument is some film in which he 'took a few licks' which means he's ready to play SEC football. I took a few licks in HS and played all 4 years. Didn't mean I could play SEC football.

We're not talking about your glorious high school career though. We are talking about Quinn and the fact that he's being recruited by an SEC school... That alone should give you an idea of his abilities.

Wasn't trying to put myself over. It was an analogy. try reading comprehension sometime.

And yeah an SEC school, only one at that. Bottom line, you appear to think this is a good pick up, I do not. And I'm tired of debating people who take it personal when someone thinks you are attacking their firstborn son when a staff sends a scholly out to a questionable recruit.

I'm a fan just like you. Difference is, I'm not delusional enough to believe we can compete with the Bama's and Florida's of the world by recruiting these type of players.
I'm done discussing it.

You took a few too many licks it's safe to say..

I say we just all put jbeard on ignore and stop feeding his troll ways.

Ignored.

Waaaaaay ahead of you on this. Got Bruin there also. Just a waste of time reading through their crap. Not saying they shouldn't post, just saying I don't want to read their crap :dance2::dance2::dance2:

CBJ and staff are the ones accountable for their selections. They apparently believe their evaluation shows the kid is good enough to get an offer. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I will believe the coaches over us brilliant armchair cowboy QBs.

Holy Cow. Post of the Week. Do you mind copying and pasting this in the "Woody Quinn" Thread? Much Obliged. :)

I actually like Bruin because he is reasonable if he's proven wrong. I can go on and on about how tight end and receivers are Butch's forte. Quinn will be molded over this year to be a tight end that can play in 2 different spots. We need a 3rd tight end while Bransiel and Jackson develop.

So did this kid also commit? I see where the Quinn kid did. Looks like this thread got all jacked up talking about the Quinn kid.
