'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

I have no clue where the kid is going. I did note that the UT offer/visit did not get him to de-commit from vandy. After he got the AU offer, he did. May mean nothing, it may mean alot.

Dont think it means anything. If AU didnt offer he would have already been a Vol and not at Vandy. If not for his Dad he would probably already be a Vol and he may end up at UT. From a playing standpount UT makes the most sense and sounds like he likes UT better than AU. I believe he ends up at UT. I just think he would have already committed to AU, jmo.

Ford's tweet, "NOBACKUP PLAN" concerns me. Like other posters, I'm afraid the most logical interpretation of this is he's p_$$ed that we were chasing Greene so hard.

Anyhow, it's all just reading tea leaves at this point, so I've got my twitter set to follow this drama Wednesday.

Definitely didnt see it that way, especially since we dont have a committed RB. We also offered before AU did and Ford will be the 3rd RB in Auburns class if he went there. That whole tweet screamed being a Vol.plus AU was chasing Green just as hard or harder.

Maybe Ford was AU's back-up plan for Green as they did not offer until after Green picked michigan? Sounds plausible :)

Good for UT if true :hi:

That sounds about right, and we had offered before then. Just seems to be lining up more and more for him to be a Vol, especially with it being said he likes UT over AU.

Uzzi has been spot on. He said later that Lawson had pretty much changed his mind, or atleast his Dad did. He has been right on.

Yup. Not once did he call Vol lock. In fact he only said UT lead for a short time, the few days after his OV. All Uzzi did was give us a behind the scenes look into Lawson's recruitment.

Exactly. And I think he liked our chances with Miller and Ford, which along with Bell I think we land. Plus Dobbs.

Then how would he have info concerning Ford? He never claimed to have personal connections w/ the coaching staff just to Lawson.

He's a former Vol who now trains HS football players in GA. I'm sure he has plenty of personal connections with UT players, staff and alumni.

I'm thinking 60-40 Barn on this one.

Unfortunately, sounds like 95-5 Barn on this one. He invited guys from the Auburn rivals site to his announcement. We also seem to be chasing Jabo Lee.

I think it would be a true NSD surprise if we pulled this guy.

Have to admit, I've become a little jealous of Auburn's finish. Chizic left them in much better shape than Dooley left us...

Don't see some peoples logic on here concerning Ford's no back up plan comment. Good grief Auburn has 3 rb in this class, we have none. Auburn recruited Green just like UT, he would have a much better chance of seeing the field early here compared to auburn. So to say that our recuitment of Green ran off Ford is just silly to put it nice,IMHO.I've seen several comments from posters saying well were recruiting other players at his position it may run him off. Bama,Aub, and many other programs prove that just isn't so. It's not that clear cut for most recruits there are so many other factors that most just don't realize. GO VOLS!

"No back up plan" could also mean that he was upset that Barber committed to auburn as a back up plan. Or that they are trying to sign 3 RBs just in case one dosent work out. TN on the other hand is only looking at signing 1...no back up plan there for sure. Also Jabo Lee confimred his committment to ECU after Ford stated that he was ready to announce. Is it possible that TN let him know that no commitable scholly was going to be available to him?
