'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

Signing day surprise:

Derrick Henry flips to Tennessee.

Why? I have no damn clue.

:p

IMO, we should have offered L. Woodley and K. Green a month and a half ago. No RB in this class will SUCK!

Turman was the back that was ours for the taking, but Dooley pushed him away to go all in on Derrick Green. Hope Ford announces UT, but the way things have went the last to weeks with Green and Lawson, I would say he goes to Auburn. Shame to seeing as though they slow played Ford.

What happens when we don't get one in 2014? Then 2015 right? Seems to be how Tennessee recruiting has gone. We were supposed to land an elite running back last year. Then it was this year. Now it's next year? At some point we actually have to land one right?

Yeah I hear ya. Graham and Dooley put all their eggs in D. Greens basket. He told them many times he was a Vol. They passed on multiple quality backs for Green. And it backfired.

Ford would be a Vol if Auburn hadn't offered.

Hopefully now with a coaching staff full of proven winners and tireless recruiters, who are focusing big time on TN HS players, Jalen Hurd will be that elite back we've been after. I also think we land one of the good RB's out of GA that we're in on early.

I think CJG likely learned a valuable lesson in recruiting this cycle, a bird in the hand. Take Clemson for instance, they were leaders for D. Green way back in the summer but didn't want to roll the dice on him since he was set on waiting until Dec/Jan to announce. So Clemson focused on T. Dye and took his commitment instead of courting D. Green for 6 more months.

Graham could have had Folston and Turman if they he pushed for a commitment. I don't think UT will be waiting until NSD for their RB commitments in this 2014 cycle.

IMO

If CBJ is a great recruiter, he'll be getting some of these great recruits to sign.....that's what great recruiters do.

I hope you're right. But one or two top recruits doesn't cut it when you're going against the SEC.

It's a start. Next year's cycle will be a lot of fun to follow. We're gonna be in the market to take around 30. It'll be a lot more exciting than this year, given the numbers and legacies coming through.

Guess its hard to compete with dirty programs unless you are willing to get dirty with them. Just have to out coach them with what we have.

I have no idea. But would not be surprised if he picks AU, would be a bit more surprising if he picked the Vols.

Auburn's version of Hubbs has been invited to the announcement and no UT reporters have been invited. This one's over, Barn.

I will say this, I don't think he is coming to Tennessee but if he shocks everyone then we would move up to #20 in recruiting rankings. He is worth 121 points. GBO!!!!
