'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

Where's old optimistic Ron?? :)

I have no idea on this one. Been an odd recruitment.

I still think regardless we end up with a back on NSD. Not really sure who.

:)

I still like the class and think we end with a few nice pickups including Bell, which is huge. But I just don't like our chances battling Alabama schools for instate kids. I won't be surprised if he picks UT though, he can be THE back at UT or ONE of the backs at Auburn. But family pressure is always so hard to overcome.

Either way I expect UT to land 2 stud RB's in 2014, including Jalen Hurd.

be nice to get Ford, but i think its been AU for a while, we have some goods backs now, and i think in 14 we get 2 maybee 3 real strong RBs.....

Here's why I think it's Auburn:

Their class is shaping up quickly, and they're looking to take 3 backs. They now have 2 committed with Barber flipping last night. That leaves one spot open going into Signing Day, and with all the rumors of a possible Folston flip, Ford can guarantee his spot in the Auburn class if he commits today. If he waits until the 6th and Folston flips, he's lost any chance at going to Auburn.

Meanwhile at Tennessee, Ford could wait until the 6th (as he's planned to do all along) and not have the slightest worry about losing his spot in UT's class. So if he were favoring Tennessee, it wouldn't make sense to suddenly alter your scheduled announcement two days before it happens.
You read my mind. I hope we're wrong.

What happens when we don't get one in 2014? Then 2015 right? Seems to be how Tennessee recruiting has gone. We were supposed to land an elite running back last year. Then it was this year. Now it's next year? At some point we actually have to land one right?

Damn logic.

Agree w/ Ron's and Signu's thought process here...I have a horrible feeling about this one. I think Malzahn told him if he doesn't commit before Wed then his spot may be gone. Remember what Lawson said about Auburn's class will be 10x better than everyone thinks? Not good for the Vols IMO.

Signing day surprise:

Derrick Henry flips to Tennessee.

Why? I have no damn clue.

:p

IMO, we should have offered L. Woodley and K. Green a month and a half ago. No RB in this class will SUCK!
