I dont think he meant as in competing. It was just a saying most people are familiar with, like a bird in the hand or to the winner goes the spoils. How many sayings are there with rise to the top in them.

I believe it was directed directly to volnation.

We sure would like to believe it is directed at VolNation. I save my Booms for the real deal. Some guys in here just boom for the hell of it. False hope at this point IMO

I've said before I think other schools are selling multiple rb's more & more on coming in together to share the load & reduce risk of wear & tear before they get to the league. I don't think early PT is as appealing as it was in the past & us not having any rb's currently committed may be hurting us. I hope I'm wrong but that's what it looks like imo

If Ford was to come here, he would share the load with Neal and Lane. Supposedly Alden Hill may see a lot of redzone carries as well.

Get a clue and take a hint. "Rise to the top" is Coach Butch's rallying motto. At UT, he will be competing to win in the SEC...and doing it. Savvy? No backup plan should mean that he has made his decision and isn't looking back.

I think you are right on schools selling having multiple running backs. But I don't think that's hurting us right now. We have enough backs on our current roster to share carries with.

I think it is some combination of: 1) new staff that lacks established relationships, 2) out if state kids being a tougher sell, 3) negative recruiting because we have been pass first in recent years, 4) negative recruiting because Arian Foster went undrafted and we haven't developed any other good backs in a while.

Yeah, I think that "Auburn fan" is similar to the "Tennessee fan" who tweeted him about having Green. Very few tweets, no followers. One thing both tweets had in common? Mentioning Vandy as a school they should go too.
