'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

If he comes to UT he would be even with Hill, Smith, and Young and could work his way into the three back rotation before the season even starts. Now that's gotta be a selling point for a freshman, hopefully enough to pull him away from his dream school.

When is CBJ's in-home with this kid?

I wonder if the redshirt factor would make him choose TN. He might be third behind Neal and Lane but he would see plenty of playing time.

I would certainly hope so. He would be in the rotation from day 1. Q. Watson and D. Young both got a lot of carries last year. And Watson is gone and I think Young is better suited in an utility role. And Neal is gone after the first year and Lane after the second.

Young will be more effective in the new offense. He is more of a space player. He will benefit from this a lot.

I agree. Hill and Smith are on the outside looking in right now. And Young is a change of pace back so Ford would have a little edge on him as well. I hope Hill and Smith can improve and give us some depth, but I think they have a little ways to go.

In home tonight! As long as he is willing to let us in the doors we have a fighting chance here IMO. Our coaches are going to POUND him on early playing time vs a redshirt. This one is far from over IMO.

I honestly think that Aldon Hill will become a decent back before he graduates, he'll be in a role players sort of situation and not a premier back, but he could be our goalline back within the next two years.

(All of this is void if we land a Derrick Henry style back next year)

After tonight the coaches will know more in regards to Ford. If all the sudden we find out Turner is visiting this weekend it will be time to move on from Ford.

Funny how posters gloss over the positives in our favor. Until I see a legit source on a commitment, I say the Vols have a chance with the last in home tonight. Have a hard time believing FSU or UGA has much of a shot this late in the game.

It has to be a UT-AU race, and if our coaches have proved anything yet it is that it's not over until the recruit signs his LOI and faxes it in.

Tweet from college football talk says folston really likes tigers... any chance this affects fords decision if folston decides to go to au?

The coaches will be in home tomorrow night with Ford. They will be talking with him and the family tonight, they're trying to decide whether or not to have Turner visit this weekend.

Been expecting to hear of a Turner visit. Honestly thought it would have been sooner. RB/DB, I think the kid could see time at either position.

I missed this I did a search for Turner and got nothing. Who is this Turner kid?

Time to put more eggs in Jalen Hurd's basket.

Saw this kid play. Don't get me wrong he's VERY good I just wonder if he's really a RB. He has good feet and vision, but he's a big kid jut wondering if continues to fill out will he continue to be a RB on the next level. IMO I see, TE, or LB ijs

Jalen will be a WR or a RB in college, it all depends on if he grow anymore. If he gets any taller then he has outgrown the RB position.

He'd be just as good at WR as he is at RB.

He has already said he wants to rb first. He also wants to play day 1. Tn will give him that shot better than others by missing out in our top targets. Everything happens for a reason and striking out now may become a home run later

Kinda what I was thinking. Although I guess we may be on the wrong thread for this convo.
