'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

" He wasn't going to Vanderbilt before he visited Auburn. He communicated with Tennessee throughout the visit at Auburn and spoke to them last night. I think it was inevitable. Now, Auburn is going to be tough to beat, but Tennessee was leading heading into the weekend."

Green picks Michigan. Ford decommits from Vandy. He's a Vol. The Auburn visit was an afterthought.

Reports was that he didn't want to visit Auburn but was urged to by his Mother. He originally wanted to take an un official back to Tennessee which I think he will do this weekend.

If UT was in the lead going into the weekend and now AU is going to be tough to beat, what did he communicate to Tennessee while on the AU trip? I still think we have a good chance with him though.

Has Auburn named a rb coach yet?

Tim Horton was named RB coach same day that Basicca left for Cowboys. Horton has 12 years of experience as a running backs coach at the collegiate level, including the past six years at Arkansas. He coached four different 1,000-yard rushers from 2007-10, including Darren McFadden and Felix Jones earned All-America honors, while Dennis Johnson and Knile Davis earned All-SEC honors.

However, Ford is being recruited by DCraig who handles Alabama recruiting among other areas.

Has any of the 3 vandy fans in existence (bigdaddydore, WKUdore or Nashvegas) chimed in yet to say they have someone higher on their board?

No... Rudy was our staff's top priority at RB for a long time. We didnt cut him loose despite what UT fans on here keep stating. His lifetime favorite school was just too much for him to turn down. Like yall, we are having a tough time getting RBs as we want to sign 2 this year. Looks like we might have to settle for just one in Matt Dayes. Rudy is a tough loss, but we will make up for it next year I hope

I don't think anyone really thinks Vandy cut him loose. Hint: Their making fun of Vandy.

Vandy never stood a chance once Ford starting getting real offers.

Thanks, but that doesn't make me feel better!

I think he wants to play in that Malzahn offense! I hope I'm wrong, but he is an offensive guru much like ore-gone's Kelly and the skill players are naturally drawn to them.

If we don't get Ford, does CBJ pull in a stealth running back that was under VN radar? Surely we can get one from somewhere. Desperately need OL and DL too.

If we don't get Ford that might be it. Maybe someone could switch positions---I'd say CBJ better be looking for someone to come in via transfer.

You wanna throw a few more AU nuggets out there? Who's side are you on?:loco:

Supposedly he is visiting Auburn this weekend on an unofficial

Well, I guess we should know by this weekend who he is going to choose then.

The offer that made him de commit is Auburn.

He is a lifelong Auburn fan. His family is all-Auburn. His town is all Auburn. His school is all Auburn. His coach is all auburn. Hell he was/is all auburn.

Once AU offered it was game over in my opinion. If AU did not offer then it would have been a VU/UT battle like Zac Cunningham.

Nashvegas, why did you change your name?
