'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

Since Vandy is new to the football world can someone please tell them how this all works. That the boosters need to open up their checkbooks to get the top tier recruits to stay committed. Vandy needs to hold on to him so UA does not have to see him on the field.

That's the problem, Vanderbilt doesn't have "boosters", they have doctors and academians.

Can we not steal one of bama's 18 RBs that are committed....they start day 1 and play behind an NFL offensive line. How hard can this be......

It very possible this new staff values ford more I seem to recall a poster saying ford telling people soon after we offered with new staff telling him he was number 1 on their board. Honestly he should be for this style offense

True

This kid is a beast and will play with a chip on his shoulder in college. Neither instate school pushed for him until very late in the process. Vandy in my opinion is only in it because they were the only SEC team for a long time to show him love. But Vandy is not UT no matter the current state of either program. And with Green committing to UM I would not be surprised to hear Ford flip to UT with in the next few days.

I remember an out-of-state prospect from South Carolina that played with a chip on his shoulder....his name was Albert Haynesworth.

I'll take him regardless, but I'll take a RB that runs with a huge chip on his shoulder when we play Alabama.

Hell yeah, I'll take that.

The more I read tonight, the more I think this is true that Ford is and has been number 1 for this staff, although I'm sure they preferred to pick up Green too.

Hope we land him. would be a nice pickup.

Based on the new offense it appears Ford and Barber would be the one two punch we need..

To say that Green wasn't our #1 is ridiculous, why would we send the whole house to him at his house if he wasn't our number 1?

Truth.

It's OK to admit it. Which is one reason Ford would hold off on his commitment to UT, if indeed that is happening. We may be 100% happy that Ford is our guy and not Green someday. But this is not that day.
