"AlabamaIntel first profiled 2013 offensive lineman Grant Hill (65 325 pounds) from Huntsville High School in Hunstville, AL, back in November after learning he had received a verbal offer from the Tide staff at the LSU/UA game. Hill plays right tackle, but could project as an offensive guard on the next level.
Hill suffered a stress fracture in his back during his sophomore season, but stayed 100% healthy for the 2011 season. Hill is a massive prospect and carries his weight well for his age. He may not be well known in recruiting circles yet, but he is a priority to the Tide staff and has a firm committable offer. Although, he has the size and frame to play right tackle at the next level, Hill's skill set could make him an outstanding offensive guard.
Once colleges start to review Hills 2011 film, I expect his offer list to expand a great deal. Right now it seems to be an Alabama and Arkansas battle for Hill, but he is also hearing from Clemson, FSU, LSU, Neb and MSU.
What are some of the things that make Hill attractive to college recruiters ? At the point of attack, Hill displays good pop and explosion off the ball. Once he gets his hands and body on a defender, he has the ability to keep his feet under him and maintain good body lean and position (you will not see him rolling around on the ground very often.) The fact that he is able to compete and excel at both the shot put and discus will be an added attraction to college coaches. Huntsville HS runs a spread attack most of the time, so Hill has had plenty of exposure to pass blocking on the HS level."
