'13 AL LB Zac Cunningham

Auburn is playing terrible but still have a great recruiting class going on, maybe has something to do with that guy Trooper Taylor? Remember him?

Cunningham said he's waiting for more offers. Sounds like he wants to play for Alabama.

He says that he currently runs a 4.6. Last, he basically says Tennessee is recruiting him at LB/S and he's going to visit for the Missouri game.

After watching his film and looking at his body type, pause, I figured that was the case. I presume the coaches got tired of watching #3 shy away from contact and saw a tall rangy athlete and decided to throw their hats in the ring.

Project at Safety too if you ask me. It's a bit different moving CB to safety or a safety to LB. But moving a MLB to safety isn't a good thing. If we didn't have needs I wouldn't care about this move but this isn't what we need right now at either position.

Not being negative but Bynum, Harris, Lewis, and Maggitt all have been injured so far for us. I like them all too so don't take it like that. But we need guys coming in to take their spot in case they go down or just to take their spot period. We've got Maggitt out there even though he's hurting everywhere. It took the coaches 6 games to say hey we may need to play #54J.Williams to help him out. Now if that's how they feel about the depth why don't they recruit guys that can come in and replace these guys Day 1.

well there is at least 4 of us looking at these LB's objectively

this is THE problem on the team - above and beyond anything else - even AJ has missed huge plays this year so to me the whole group needs to be being recruited like they need to be replaced - i get that some will improve and keep their spot but this needs to be recruited over all else

If he's an in box safety, then it isn't that different. Still matches up against and runs with TEs. Now if we're continuing the talk of our safeties being interchangeable the discussion changes.

You said it yourself that his HS plays their best athlete at safety yr n and yr out. Who knows what's his natural best position is? It all very well may depend on his growth.

Nonetheless, I'm tired of seeing ppl abuse our secondary for one reason or another whether it's on the ground or in the air!

I watched the first 1.5 minutes of that video, since I have better/more important things to do with my time, but did you watch it?

Other than the fact that he is extremely underweight for an SEC LB, what was wrong with the video? I'm not scout, but it looked impressive, and it's corroborated with what all the analysts have written in AL thus far.

Look at when all those commitments were, Auburn has not picked up anybody big since the start of the season.

He's a tweener. If his 40 is correct he's sub avg-avg for a LB---no way in h3ll he moves to safety in the SEC.

Trouble developing for the '13 class? This offer could be telling.

Pinson plays weak competition year in and year out. They put up good numbers most years then in the playoffs they do nothing versus good competition. Their football players rarely ever pan out. The springville video showed me what I see year in and year out with that squad.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info.

Springville has the occasional great athlete. They had a kid of a similar build a couple yrs ago that was a 4* WR that signed with Auburn.

How many guys have come through Springville like that? My point....they're usually terrible over there. No athletes period.

If they're terrible, he did what you're supposed to do to terrible teams put up #s. Others (your competition) abilities are an indication of your ability always?.

IJS... give the man a break. He's performing apparently and college coaches are starting to notice.

Now, what you can do BB is drive your asprin tablet over to Pinson Valley and watch their game vs Briarwood tonight @ 7 and give us a report. LOL.

Kid may turn out. We'll see....the Pinson players usually don't though. But I still don't want him with what we're already bringing in. Not championship level recruiting. We're recruiting like we're at TCU or somewhere.

Here, I'll settle it for you guys. I've been reluctant to say this so far, but here goes. The whole fact that we're even having to hold this discussion if proof enough. You think ol' Nicky, or Les, or Mark, or Muschamp are having these same conversations with their staffs? There. Argument settled. Good night and good luck!

My problem with that Highlight reel is I didnt see him defeat a single block.

Didnt see him take on a block with correct shoulder or rip off an offensive lineman's block.

I'd be more interested in seeing entire games and see what he does when he actually has to engage and use his hands.
