'12 VA DT Korren Kirven (Bama signee)

would definitely say something about Dooley beating out in-state VT and Bama who supposedly have put the "full court press" on KK the past few weeks.

I agree. Have to put this one on Sunseri though honestly. This whole DL haul this year is the best that I can remember in a long time. Glad to see us finally addressing that deficiency.

Someone just posted in the paint the rock forum the parents are not coming. Dad could not get off work. Bummer.

If KK really wants to be a Vol (and I hope/suspect he does), his parents WILL make the trip to Knoxville. Its just wait and see at this point, IMO.

Is it legal to send a professor in the architecture department up with the coaches to see him and his parents?

I don't think it is but that sounded like what they really wanted to accomplish from the visit.

Maybe they'll come this weekend while KK is at VT. I'm sure they know what they need to know about it already (fingers crossed)

All they need is to grab their lap top and hop on the private plane with a coaching staff member.

I don't think it legal but its worth asking compliance in this case.

From Hubbs

I just spoke to him and his dad has been called into work and can't get away tomorrow so his parents are not coming down to Knoxville.

His parents haven't been on any of his official visits and won't go to Virginia Tech.

His mom and dad have both been to Tennessee twice. His mother hasn't seen and won't see Alabama.

They have both been to Virginia Tech as well on an unofficial visit.

Kirven made it clear that his parents not being able to come has no impact on Tennessee's chances.

We will see. He will see the Hokies on Friday.

Professor Gate? I like it!:good!:

After speaking with multiple sources on the subject, I can back up what Ryan has been saying and would call Tennessee the clear team to beat at this point for the services of the four-star defensive tackle from Virginia. There is still time between now and signing day for him to change his mind, but he was very impressed- blown away even- by his trip to Knoxville and new defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri has developed a good relationship with him in a short amount of time.

Virginia Tech was considered the team to beat for some time and I can't rule the Hokies out at this stage, but speaking with folks on the VPI and Alabama end of things- it all came back that the Vols are in good shape.
