I think you are a pretty good--if sometimes melodramatic--poster, so i will say this:

The High road, tombom, take it. :good!:

sorry i'm pissed both left, but the rumors going around are not good for UT. either way, i hate this dysfunctionality that has become a common place for UT.

Told Scout that he was shocked & would have to think about his commitment to Tennessee & get back to them.

As long as McNeil plans to visit on the 13th, I will not worry. Same goes for a lot of the other recruits. I'm sure UT's staff and AD Hart will make a pretty big hire. It should be a given. Jobs are on the line after next year.

There is a better than even chance we upgrade the DC.

I have no doubt Wilcox was and could have been a great coach. He just needed the personnel, which he didn't yet have here. I was surprised he left this abruptly, however, I wasn't surprised with the fact he left all together. The dude was interviewing for jobs last year (Texas). He was going to leave as soon as he got the chance for a better situation for himself. The fact it was out west, to a program like UW, Sirmon was going to leave with him.

Frankly, I don't like coaches like that. He didn't really prove anything here, and he was interviewing with other schools after ONE season. Good luck to you. Coaches should see UT as a destination job, not a pit-stop onto something better.

Agree Lynx - this should be a destination job. Like Kiffin, I can see him wanting to go back west. Losing Sirmon hurts recruiting. My concern is our ability to get a home run hire. If Hart does not jump behind Dooley in a big way, the home run hire will not come as they will perceive this to be a potential one year assignment.

If indeed Randy Shannon is our next DC - no worries about any of our defensive commits unless they don't really want a shot at the NFL.

Shannon's philosophies would fit in well with CDDs, but talking about Shannon right now is nothing but premature speculation.

New Rivals article on LaDarrell McNeil. It seems to me, from McNeil's recent quotes, that McNeil will stay a Vol if Coach Dooley and Coach Joseph stay. UT still needs to hire a big DC and make sure McNeil's visit goes well, but I think he will stay a Vol.

"My thoughts right now are like I need to talk to coach Dooley and coach Joseph after the (Army) bowl game of course and I need to get some info," McNeil said after Monday's practice at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
"I need to know because coach Wilcox, me and him created a bond, so I need to know if coach Joseph is going to leave and I need to know if coach Dooley is going to leave."
"It's a business but I want to make sure if I could be a part of the business and be loyal to the people who are loyal to me," McNeil said. "It's definitely a big deal because I have relationships with these coaches and if they're leaving then I have to build a relationship with the next coach. It's going to change a lot."

I agree, sounds like CDD and CTJ should be able to keep him a Vol. :good!:

This sounds like good news to me. I hope all our recruits think about things before they make a decision about decommitting. McNeil cold still decide to leave but as it stands now it sounds like he wants to give the coaches a chance to make him stay.

I agree. I don't think of McNeil as solid by any means ATP, but of I remember correctly, he hasn't yet had an OV here. Should win him over completely.
