inb4 fijivol. Considering all the other dumb asses have started to fill this thread up with their mindless drivel, I am sure he is not far behind

I hate to lose anybody but realistically this isn't as great a loss as some people think. Now if we were to lose Peters on top of this I would be very disapointed but that's not going to happen. We have more LB talent then we have had in years so what this does is open up a spot for a greater position of need. That's my spin

Rivals watched Santos play several times and refused to bump him to 4 stars. I'm thinking the myth is bigger then reality on this one.

I hate that he switched, but I think we all saw this coming. When I got word earlier about how much he enjoyed his visit this weekend I basically knew it was over. It's a shame because I do think he'll regret this decision.

Question: Should CDD keep calling Santos and try to get him to switch back on Signing day, or give it up, and not make any further effort?

Also, I was hoping our new DC could close this one.

It's done. Texas is where he wanted to go from Day 1. He only committed to Tennessee because at the time he thought he was never getting a Texas offer.

I wish him the best, but I sure think he is getting screwed over.. Not because he isn't coming here, but due to Texas will make him sit and them talk him into playing DE.... IMO

I think they had a running back last year that didn't get to see the field and they convinced him to play LB this year and he got hurt... Could be wrong though..

Let everyone hate on Dooley. He's gonna bring in 4 more 4* now instead of 3. Top 10 class is on the way. Haters gonna hate. Who gives a damn, Santos honestly would probably fair better in a 3-4 SEC defense, but I know I would turn down any school if tenn offered me the DAY before NSD. I don't blame the kid, it's his dream school.

We're just gonna make the most out of this and bring in some very talented guys at other positions. I think Christian Harris can be better than Santos anyway, he has a lot more speed. There's more positives coming out of this than negatives IMO.

He is redneck trash anyway..

...unless he changes his mind back to the Vols of course.

I tend to agree that he is a redneck. And probably wouldn't reflect well on the university in interviews and such. But that isn't really related to why we needed him on the football field.

Win some, lose some. I hope we don't have any fans harassing him for his decision.

lol traditional "we didn't really want him anyway"

In my opinion if Texas was his dream school why commit to us. He could have waited til signing day and signed with whoever. And signed with us if his favorite team didn't offer.

I agree........ Wish he would of stayed with us and in the end he may wish he had too...... Time will tell.....
Does have a little bit of drama queen in him though...

Best of luck Mr. Santos. Kid is going to be good no matter where he attended college. Wish UT could have held on to him.

This guy is no Gabe Wright when talking about character issues. He called the coaches and informed him of the decision. I said the not his for a reason. But, if he did not have character, he would have just waited and signed with Texas on Wed. He did not test it either. He made the call and took whatever medicine came down with it. That was all I asked. That he would not leave us hanging with his spot.

I didn't want to come back by until this was over. It had the result I thought it would. Not because Texas is superior to Tennessee, not because DS's parents forced him into anything and not because Mack paid him off.....we all have a dream scenario in our minds about how our life will work out. It doesn't mean it is right, hell, maybe he would have had a better career at Tennessee. Maybe he'll win a national title at Texas - who knows. This isn't about our opinions, it is about the dreams an 18 y.o. had during his formative years.

Texas has been on the losing end of plenty of these when the Horns recruit out of state. It isn't fun. I'm not going to come on this board and be an ***hole. I'm going to go to the aggie board and be an ***hole because they were convinced that Santos would switch to A&M because they allowed him to be in the SEC AND to play in Texas. But, despite what he said in his press conference before, Dalton never gave a damn about just playing for the SEC. He cared a lot more about the individual school and the viability of their football program. He wanted to fulfill his dreams, play where he was content and play where he had a shot at a title. That is why it came down to a razor thin margin between 2 schools he loved......and that is why A&M was never in the picture.

I don't normally give 2 farts about any SEC team but I'll be rooting passionately for the Vols every time you kick A&M's ****ing teeth in.....

Time to move on. This actually just proves that you cant trust these kids and their commitments. Parents dont teach kids values anymore which is sad. And dont come on here and tell me that it was his dream school and all that. The kid gave a commitment to UTK and he kept it until he was offered late...VERY LATE in the game due to his "Favorite" team getting burned by some other kids. How about lets move on and get a kid that wants to truly be a VFL and kick this thread to the end of the line. See ya fat boy!

:wavey:

I wanna play in the SEC my ass!
