'12 TX LB Dalton Santos (Texas Commit)

I think the reason why people are upset is because he's been committed for a long time and said great things about Tennessee and became a fan favorite and now it's looking like he's going to Texass so naturally fans are gonna be pissed. One player doesn't make a program.

You guys saying that Texas is a real threat need to think about this. I am from Longview, TX and lived there for 18 years before moving on. Not everyone dreams of playing for the horns like you think. Don't presume that just because they offer or want him to visit that this thing is a done deal. Also, think of the respect factor. If you're a bigtime recruit and your own state school doesn't show you any interest until this close to signing day should tell you they have missed on other prospects that they desired to have above you. I think Santos is a VOL in the end and next week will be one last hoo rah for Dalton and family.

Time for Sal to take one of Bama's 50 linebackers they got committed. Or get Tugboat to call Kwon Alexander. He hasn't made a choice and I'm sure Sal has been in contact with him. I know .... no chance.

unless something crazy happens next weekend, dalton will be a Horn, according to his dad.

R brown will not be a vol.

I'm not going to sit here and state it as fact like some people on here. Like I have felt from the start though there is a good chance, and skeeter has confirmed as much.

People keep saying if we don't get him that's ok, and I hope he does well and all that stuff, but I'm not gonna lie, if he backs out the last week before signing day, I'm not going to be rooting for him. I mean, I hope he marries a beautiful woman, has beautiful babies, and becomes a successful landscape artist or something, but if he doesn't come to Tn, I hope he sucks at football and I don't care if you all think I'm a jerk or not.

I think we hold on to Santos..the meeting with Sunseri sealed it imo.

But if he flips, atleast the mods won't have to change the title of his thread.

..too soon?

I am probably in the minority but I don't really mind if we lose Santos.

I will gladly trade him for a solid DT.

I like were we are with our LBs.

We are still thin at DT.

Just my two cents. If he stays with UT, great.

If not, not a big deal to me if we can land a solid DT with his spot.

The problem is...how likely is that? It's been said many times that Shanks is recruiting Goldman to FSU alongside him. Kirven? Who knows.

Are you on VQ?

Make no mistake...this one will hurt if it happens...we would have 1 stud LB and one project in a class where we needed at least 4 and at least 2 that could help pretty fast...

This one pisses me off cause we could have gone several differant directions at this position if we had known this sooner...now we're going to have to scramble and likely won't find a replacement anywhere near his caliber

Them's the breaks, unfortunately. I've only been following recruiting for 3 years, mostly as an observer, but between Dawson last year, Henderson and Grey this year and now this Santos kid, just about anything can happen at any time. Read the last half of your post...the kids/parents we've told to look around are probably saying the same thing.

Think of it this way: someone's getting left at the altar...some days you're the bride, some days you're the groom.
