just assume the only commitment a recruit can make is on NSD and it makes following it much easier

I do think we need an early signing period with some head coach out clause, but what is good for the goose is good for the gander. If a coach can revoke an offer, the kid can change his mind...and vice versa.

True but they recruit in such a different way. They might not use that practice since they get so many early commits.

Yeah. Texas is a different animal when it comes to recruiting, especially in Texas and out West. I can't remember specifics, but the percentage of recruits who OV there and then sign with them is really, really high.

What is the uphill part? Is his father pushing him away from Tennessee? Every quote I have seen has been Positive toward Tennessee and him sticking with his commitment. With the work that the coaches have put into his recruitment, it would be a major disappointment to have him back out last minute. It is what it is. I sure hope Derek Dooley closes well with this kid.

Texas had a spot open up. Offered Dalton Thursday or Friday. He then called Dooley. One can only assume what it was about. He said Texas is special to him and his family. Doesn't look good.

Why worry? it is just recruiting. Can't let your mood swing based on an 18 year olds decision. Unless he ends up signing with USC....

I dunno. The guy I replied to tried to put some words in my mouth, so I was just clarifying that his post wasn't responsive to what I was saying.

Being from Austin, TX and knowing that state I think there's a high possibility that Dalton goes there. There are a lot of kids who grow up watching Texas football and wanting to go play for the Horns. The only thing that may keep him with us is the fact that we play in the SEC and that they might be late in the game. just my :twocents:

Texans are an odd bunch when it comes to Texas. it can get irritating pretty quickly.

If he bolts for Texas, you can't blame him anymore than you cam blame Aaron Craft for going to Ohio State.

However, it would really minimize the importance he really put on playing ball in the SEC.

agree but they kinda do already if they want to enroll in Jan

Sarcasm I hope :) I couldn't imagine this board if we knew nothing til signing day. Talk about a bunch of people jumping off bridges.

didn't say know nothing but nothing is 100% from the school or the recruit. It's a business
