Tennessee linebacker commit Dalton Santos (Van, Texas/Van) has received a scholarship offer from Texas and plans to visit Austin next weekend.

Santos' father, Albert, confirmed to HornsNation that the Under Armour All-American got his offer from Texas offensive line coach Stacy Searels on Saturday night, and Santos is very interested in what the Longhorns have to offer.

"Obviously there is a great interest there from him," Albert Santos said. "We wouldn't do [the visit] if he was not interested, I can assure you of that."

Honestly just wanna KNOW we have him or know we don't. Yeah, might not be the case until NSD...

but good god I am sick of this thread acting like he's the most irreplaceable recruit ever.

I can definitely sympathize with this.

Don't get me wrong I really want to hold on to Santos but I believe that Harris may play more ILB than him but that's JMO... Like it has been said we have a more depth with the last two LB classes so it wouldn't be like us missing on O'Brien or Sentimore that would have been alot more devastating IMO...

I am not sure how good he is, if he is the best recruit, or the worse (I'm not that good at evaluations) but I am about to be over this guy... even if he isnthe best

If he wants to come here I welcome him, if he doesn't .. them I'm ok

I hope UT keeps him but believe I said before that Rivals continues to have concerns even after having seen him play a great deal. We will see I suppose.

No matter what he decides but if you think dumbass Brian perroni knows more than sunseri and sirmon about lbs then you are challenged.

He did look a little slow during the UA game.

Actually, to me, he looked way more sideline to sideline than I expected. But he's not a lock to start as a freshman or anything like some people on this board believe.

Dalton will know that his game is more suited for what we run.

I hope he remembers that. With him being a life long Texas fan I just don't see him turning them down though.

Hopefully he thinks it through and realizes the opportunity he has at Tennessee.

I love recruiting. I have convinced myself it will be for the best if we lose him and open up a spot or keep him because he has a great upside. I think both are true. Its all good. Kind of speaks to the the upswing.

You all are fooling yourselves if you think he's taking this visit for fun.

Almost all Texas kids dream of playing for the Longhorns. If they decide they want Santos they most likely will get him.

I'm not trying to be negative but our chances of keeping Santos are looking slim with this new development.

I think you're overreacting and giving Texas way too much credit. They've been recruiting him for all of a week or two. Remember 99.9% committed to UT? I'm sorry, but I'm not going to get worried until possibly AFTER the visit.

But on the Arkansas article, that's funny stuff. They slanted the hell out of it. Just goes to show you that you need to take articles with a grain of salt unless you know it's from a reliable source.
