The recruitment of Dalton Santos has been a blur for the past month. He was totally solid to Tennessee with linebackers coach Peter Sirmon leading the charge in solidifying the talented backer. Sirmon decided to head west to Washington and things changed. New defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri was in Van, Texas most of the day, Wednesday, but are the Vols back firmly in front?
*
"I didn't know what to think," Santos said.*"I was lost on the situation since Sirmon left. I didn't know what to think. I was nervous, but I like the hell out of coach Sal. He has that swagger and he sounds like the real deal. I knew him a little bit from before and I'm excited to get up there and knock some heads off."
*
Santos has an offer list loaded with college football's elite programs. Through all that has happened with the Vol program, Santos actually sees a bright future.
*
"I feel like Tennessee is in better shape now than before," Santos said.*"I loved coach Sirmon, but coach Sal has an attitude about him. He's been at Bama and there is no choice but to win and that's what he's going to bring to Tennessee. I think he can do a lot for me."
*
Santos took Sunseri to one of his favorite places to chow down in Van. They hung out at the school and with the Santos family.
*
"He said he hadn't had cooking like that in a long time," Santos said.*"He had a chicken fried steak and I told him it was some southern comfort. We had a good time."
*
So what did Sunseri tell Santos?
*
"He told me that he loved me and loves the way I play," Santos said.*"He's excited to get things started and to get this thing rolling. He wants to flip the script in the SEC and we are both coming in together."
*
Sunseri showed that he has plenty of personality and he's a players coach. Yesterday, Danny O'Brien raved to Volquest about his meeting with Sunseri and now it's Santos talking favorably about the Vols new defensive leader.
*
"That helped out tons," Santos said of Sunseri's personality.*"When it comes down to film study and football it's business and he's business. Off the field he likes to have fun and you can tell it. He's a family guy and I just liked his personality. He likes to play pranks and I liked that."
*
Sunseri even showed that he knows how to pull the strings of head coach Derek Dooley. It was a moment that Santos won't soon forget and got a good laugh out of on Wednesday night.
*
"Coach Sal said that Dooley had been on him every day since he took the job to get down to see me," Santos said.*"Coach Sal told my dad to call coach Dooley and tell him that we had been waiting on him, but he hadn't arrived. Coach Dooley was freaking out. He didn't know what to say. He was on a plane and my dad informed him that it was a joke and he had a good laugh, but you could tell he was upset because coach Sal had gotten one over him."
*
Santos*still plans on visiting Arkansas this weekend. Tennessee fans will ask why visit if he's solid to Tennessee? He says that Vol fans shouldn't worry.
*
"I'm going to go up there and look at it," Santos said.*"Talking to Danny (O'Brien)*today and talking to coach Sal, I'm 99.9% with Tennessee. The guys I'm coming in with are great. My heart is with the Vols and I'm just going to have some fun and do something that not a lot of people get to do."

I didn't say that Richt was visiting but I didn't make the shiz up. I was simply asking for clarification. I went to the gym and came back looking for info and found that. Glad it's cleared up here.

That is ten kinds of awesome!!!

I like two things the most out of the quoted portion - swagger and knocking heads off is one.
The second is Sunseri's prankster nature.

A team that "knocks heads off" while also having FUN together doing it is a dangerous team.

Here's to hoping that we do indeed "flip the script" in the SEC!

Doesn't matter to me at this point. Seen the film on Santos....Beast. Seen the film on Sentimore....Beast. Seen the film on Randolph....Beast (How'd he do as a FR?). Get them on campus, let's start winning with these 3*, then nothing else will matter.

They r gonna be bad*ss,I cant wait to see smash the SEC

Santos, McNeil, McCullers. That's what Tennessee defense is about.

MFN Vols B;$:h!
