Aj had 13 tackles against Alabama, 14 against USCjr and 11 against LSU. If you think any of your Fr LB's are or will be better, you're crazy.

And those tackle numbers may be off a bit, that was off the top of my head, but you ger the point.

Lol. No, we had a choice. We just chose to start AJ.

Doesn't sound like much of a choice if you choose to start 2 freshmen. Either way it was a very smart choice by CDD, that kind experience will payoff bigtime in the future.

Just FWIW CSS was recruiting him hard to UA and he picked UT instead over UA. CSS would have been his position coach at UA.

Just wondering if Helen Hunt will know anything about Santos. If he didn't know anything about Berry , what will he know about a guy from Texas not as highly rated.

I guess we are all sensitive to the Uga crap and them thinking they own everybody.....and can get whoever they want.....You don't come into the recruitment this late without some means of securing a committment....use of some means....would hate to see him go there and be totally disappointed....broken promises.....

There may have been a choice, but it was a no-brainer. Maggitt and AJ were the best LBs on the roster (with Lathers being hurt).

They were the most talented, but Austin Johnson was our best linebacker last year IMO. Maggit and AJ will easily pass him up in that stage of their career though.
