each is entitled to his own opinion granted, but i completely disagree about west knox. there is little if any culture there. its nice to live there but horridly boring.

its a 30 min drive downtown, after hitting up downtown brewery and a couple other joints the. to drive home isnt possible. reckless.

asheville is a great example of a right sized town with decent distance to good living areas. knoxs sprawl happened way far from the old city.

anyhow. this is a thread Bout dalton santos. i wont feel comfortable about this one til the ink is dry

You are very wrong!

UGA is getting a visit... at least for now... so you cannot say they are out of it. But they are the least likely destination for this guy as we stand today.

You can delude yourself all you want but you are behind trying to catch up. You are as far behind on this kid as UT is on Goldman. That doesn't mean lightning won't strike... but it is unlikely.

Santos has a long relationship with UT now. He has relationships with guys in his class. Dooley was high on him when no one else was. He has visited UT and loved it. If UGA were effective in convincing him to not attend UT... the likely beneficiary will be A&M where his mom wants him anyway.

You know... I used to be pretty ambivalent to a little positive on UGA... I could pull for them out of conference or against more hated SEC schools like UF... until some of their fans started showing up here.

Santos and Peters are going to have to be really good to come in and play over AJ, Maggitt, Lathers, Harris, etc. People expect a lot out of Freshman around here just because we have had to rely on them the last few years. The hope is that in the near future we have the depth to allow us to redshirt and allow players to mature both mentally and physically. If they are needed to play, lets hope it isn't starting.

I never said either was better than AJ or Maggit. I think Santos is physically ready and could potentinally be one the starting ILBs in the 3-4.

He will also compete for the mike spot, which would allow AJ to play sam position and Maggit to play the will (albeit not the best pass covering group). Or AJ could play mike, and Maggit and another would play outside.

I don't believe Peters is ready to start yet, but he has more potential than nearly anyone in this class IMO. We are really building nice depth at LB. Just hoping we can hold on to everyone.

He's taking visits that say he's truly looking elsewhere, not just looking for warm weather vacations.

If he were in love with UT at this point, he wouldn't be. At best, he's uncertain. Giving all the coaching changes the last month, that's understandable. At worst, he doesn't want to come to UT any longer. Of all those committed to UT, he's the one that seems to me most likely to wind up elsewhere.

So is this the majority of volnations favorite LB recruit? I dont know that I could pick between him and Peters. But, I really like the thought of Santos in the middle beside AJ in a 3-4.

Also, who will play mike when we run the 4-3? (which I expect us to do about 80% of the time next year) Maybe Santos at mike and AJ at sam?

I think you're forgetting about Maggitt and Lathers...

Not really. Our most recent commit ,Bourque, has the distiction of committing to all the schools that he officially visits which has been three .If that trend continues it will be four when he visits the Canes this weekend and then five at Nebraska on Jan 28.Dalton will be cemented in by sending Sunseri tommorrow.Dalton was quoted as saying he has been lost after Sirmon and Wilcox left. The Gps and compass is being dispatched to help him find his way out of the Wilderness .....and it will be successful.

I agree Alex that Santos will be cemented in with the in-home tomorrow night...Dalton is all VOL! Good to see you posting here on VN...GBO!

Long shot at best but it is becoming very clear that the kid is willing to listen.

I find the arrogance of UGA and Richt comical. What has UGA ever done to think it can consistently hop on recruits this late in the game and act like they've got a shot with every single one of them?

They don't offer or even look at the video of in-state talent Davis but then act like he's one of their top priorities soon as he decommits and Richt "will be looking at his video." What a joke and an insult to the recruits at that.

Only red you'll be seeing on Santos is the ink that wears off your jerseys/helmets as he mauls your RB's and QB's in Orange for the next 3-4yrs.

I said LONG SHOT. Don't get mad, all recruits are fair game until NSD.

A bigger joke and/or insult is accepting a kid's commitment and then pulling his offer.

If rivals doesn't bump Santos into the 250 and 4* him I will have lost ALL respect for the evaluations of players on that site. I already have very little for them anyway. They bumped a Bama commit from outside of the 250 into the top 100!!! Are you kidding me??

lol at this dawg clown, he's anything but an insider. I wish folks would just ignore him instead of quote him.

Not mad at all, just think it's comical the way UGA acts like they can score anyone, anytime, and they're God's gift to football.

Every college football coach in America asks recruits to look around from time to time. Thanks for providing another example of how UGA puts itself on a pedestal. How's your glass house?
