We really needed to convince him to come visit this last weekend anyway and have our DC come visit him once hired.
I really don't know why he decided to not come because no DC was in place. He could have come and bonded with all the guys again and learned more about the program and then our DC could have gone to him.
As it turns out, if had come on, he could have met his new DC anyway. So, if we lose him, it's because we couldn't convince him to come on and make the visit, IMO.

You are really in the dark on his recruitment .Santos has already visited officially. He was planning to visit unofficially last weekend paying his own way to help in the recruiting effort prior to the departure of Wilcox and Sirmon.Since he was paying his own way ,he decided it was not prudent unless the DC had been named .The DC was announced Friday too late for him to then travel because it is expensive to travel from his home in Texas to Knoxville and for his family to pay for a flight that late was out of the question. If Sunseri does not cement his commitment then he is a lost cause and expect him to go to Texas A&M where his Mom wants him to attend.

So is this the majority of volnations favorite LB recruit? I dont know that I could pick between him and Peters. But, I really like the thought of Santos in the middle beside AJ in a 3-4.

Also, who will play mike when we run the 4-3? (which I expect us to do about 80% of the time next year) Maybe Santos at mike and AJ at sam?

I know we are VERY late to this party but we have 0 ILBs in this class and we will lose 2 to 3 of our best ILBs after next year. There would be a very good opportunity at UGA for Mr. Santos.

Santos would have just as good of an opportunity at any of the schools being mentioned. If the logic you just gave worked... UT would have signed one of the RB's we've been discussing.

Met your boy Jarvis Jones Sat night in New Haven. Pretty solid guy and looks nasty.

Santos and Peters are going to have to be really good to come in and play over AJ, Maggitt, Lathers, Harris, etc. People expect a lot out of Freshman around here just because we have had to rely on them the last few years. The hope is that in the near future we have the depth to allow us to redshirt and allow players to mature both mentally and physically. If they are needed to play, lets hope it isn't starting.

UT's roster has healed enough to not be pressured into playing as many Fr or depending on them as much.

I think Brown, Peters, and Santos are all guys who could get PT and not a RS at UT this fall. I could easily see Peters and Brown on ST's.

If UT does what DD has indicated about being "multiple".... they'll need bunches of LB's able to play.

As a huge UT football fan, UT alum, and UGA hater, I would have to strongly disagree. Athens' bar scene makes Knoxville's strip look pitiful. There are some beautiful ladies down there too!

Athens is a cool college town, but there's a huge difference between the bar scene during the football season and over the summer. Lots of folks pack up and haul a$$ out of Athens over the summer.

That can be said for any University. People get Internships, go home to family, go work jobs in vacation areas, etc. Go to UT's campus in the summer and tell me its a happening place... Knoxville is a bigger city, but the campus in the summer is probably just as dead as Athens...

I know that. But the whole argument began when somebody said they visited Athens over the summer and it "sucked donkey balls" or something like that. Then there were all these people disputing that Athens could possibly suck, and saying how awesome Athens is. I was just pointing out that the experience on a game weekend in the fall is quite a bit different than a summer visit. Yeah, it's a fun place to be during the school year, not so much in the summer. And yeah, that's true of pretty much any college town.
