No way of knowing that right now. It doesn't seem that any program on UT's level jumped all over him. IMO, he was being recruited as a project and UT ended up needing the room... or at least thinking they would need it.

Brown might very well be faster on a track. He's also 25lbs lighter, and a much less powerful tackler. No one's quicker to the ball than Santos in this class, either. Richie Brown has been an afterthought for a reason as well. Khalid may have been a project---but one with a lot of upside, and we don't look like we need that room now, do we? And that doesn't even consider the bad pub we've got now with Atlanta HS coaches.

Maybe if Dooley begs enough, we can get Henderson back, if Santos leaves?

The problem is, they're getting them....Dooley seems like he does a good job of finding undervalued talent. But can he keep it?

I don't know and neither do you. This staff treats information like national security depended on it. You are just letting the ebb and flow of recruiting work you up.

Recruit flips happen to almost every program each year so I am certainly not saying it won't happen... but so far all Santos has said is that he's weighing his options. Right now, it is still UT.

Sunseri's meeting with him is important. If he impresses then Santos probably sticks.


FTR, who has been "getting them"?

The Santos family was excited about the Sunseri hire. They still are. Dalton and his family weren't happy about Wilcox and Sirmon leaving. He and his dad had a great relationship with Sirmon. His mom wants him at TX A&M, and his dad wants to see how things go when they meet with Sunseri. I think Dalton's heart is still with UT, but he wants to make sure about Sunseri. Dalton won't end up at UGA. They are trying to get in on him way too late. If he doesn't end up at UT, he'll end up at TX A&M. I would be very surprised if he chose Arkansas. I know there's some interest there, but his top 2 are still UT and TX A&M.

I know we are VERY late to this party but we have 0 ILBs in this class and we will lose 2 to 3 of our best ILBs after next year. There would be a very good opportunity at UGA for Mr. Santos.

We really needed to convince him to come visit this last weekend anyway and have our DC come visit him once hired.
I really don't know why he decided to not come because no DC was in place. He could have come and bonded with all the guys again and learned more about the program and then our DC could have gone to him.
As it turns out, if had come on, he could have met his new DC anyway. So, if we lose him, it's because we couldn't convince him to come on and make the visit, IMO.

Maybe I'm just naive or something, but I'm not worried here. At this point, I have confidence in the staff to retain folks. We'll see.....

CSS has called Santos and is scheduled for an in home visit this week. I think this was reported here on Friday or Saturday. I hope that's still the plan!

Sunseri is scheduled to be in Van, Texas on Wednesday for an in-home visit with the Santos family...I think he is all Vol!

Sorry man, but according to his friends, he's not really interested. He's just taking the free visit. No genuine interest though.
