'12 TX LB Dalton Santos (Texas Commit)

I understand why Rivals has him as a 3* but if he's a 3* they need to adjust alot of other guys who are committed to other teams that also have coverage issues as LBs or whatever the case is. You can't have Santos as a 3* and Quanzell Lambert as a 4* who is committed to Rutgers and isn't on Santos' level in any way.

Another sketchy thing about Rivals is they decided Trent Taylor should go from 4* to 3* within a few months after changing commitments from Miami to UT. I don't get that one either.

Exactly....110% agree....especially after seeing his senior film...this one, Santos and Sentimore are the ones I vehemently disagree with this year

I normally hate questioning our commitments' star ratings or rankings because everyone on this board is obviously bias, but I do truly believe those three guys are 4* recruits and nothing will change my mind on that. Even if Santos or Taylor de-commit today. The potential they all three show right now coming out of HS (or JUCO) puts them at a 5.8 4* using Rivals system IMO.

Santos' issues have to do with mobility and coverage skills.

The only thing I've heard for the reason Sentimore is a 3* is he's a DT/DE tweener.

On Taylor, the only thing I can even rationalize is he's apparently gained some "bad" weight. He finished his senior year with 14 TFL and 14 sacks with 66 tackles in a very tough classification/district in FL. He finished his career at Lake Gibson with 45 sacks and 74 TFL.

What annoys me in particular about Taylor's situation is Nee dropped him over one game that he saw...

I understand that you can tell alot more about a recruit when you see them in person...but I also think you need more of a sample than one game to do so...

His senior film showed me what I wanted to see from him...he is absolutely a 4* caliber player...

And you aren't kidding about the competition...the Dade county area is probably the most competitive area in the entire state

Just had to double check to see if I was in the Santos thread.

All this talk about him to DE is crazy right now. He's a MLB and the type of MLB we'll need to stop the Bama run game. Have you seen the big 245lb man child Fowler at RB? Aj, Maggitt, and crew will have to bring it.

And all the Hightower won't be a first round pick stuff is crazy. How many LBs out there are better than him? Just curious.

Tulsa threw 90% of the time and against the better competition being Navy or Tulane. Cmon

BJ Coleman looked like a stud after moving to UTC. Whats he doing now?

BJ Coleman has an invitation to the NFL combine. So he's probably working on his game if you really want to know.

I'm starting to think Dalton should be at 5.9 and I agree with the Trent at 5.8.

After watching Dalton perform in the UA pre-game skill contests and in the game,,,,,,IMO he's closer to a 5*. Very impressed.

It's possible that after the UA game Santos may get a star bump.

Michael Taylor shot up through the rankings after a very impressive UA game two years ago.

Yes it's possible but Rivals will come up with some BS excuse why he won't.

Don't blame him though. Right now the point would be to visit and get to know the dc, which we currently don't have. I fully expect one before the 13th though or epic fail on the hiring process

Fortenbeast said he thought Santos was the shakiest out of him, Peters, and McNeil.

Santos hasn't showed it with his recent comments, but we need to get a DC and an LB coach in soon. We'll see tomorrow, but we need to have it done by Wednesday, IMO. If he's willing to cancel his trip this weekend because someone isn't hired, then he is willing to listen to/visit someone else this coming weekend.

I would agree with that, only because Peters and McNeil are both as solid as we could hope for right now and Santos is iffy on making his OV unless we name our DC soon...
