The real question is: who does UT actually have a chance to sign that will do all of these things? Shannon would be great, but with the way UT's luck has been lately I will hold out hope until he signs the contract.

I don't know. And I'm OK with preparing myself for whatever comes and waiting... rather than doing the Chik'n Lil thing that people like "UT's#1fan" do.

I suspect they'll make a good hire. If Hart is serious about spending money to replace DD then he should be just as committed to getting the best staff in with DD. I think RS would be a very, very good hire if he fits with the staff.

In all honesty, I am more disappointed to see Sirmon leave than Wilcox.

Without a doubt Sirmon is the larger and more damaging loss of the two. Wilcox is a good young DC, but his defensive schemes will fit in better on the left coast than in the SEC where the play is more physical. Wilcox was a spotty recruiter at best while here and overall, I doubt that he was ever really comfortable living and recruiting in the Southeast.

Sirmon, on the other hand, was an excellent LB coach and more importantly he was dynamite on the recruiting front. Both will be sorely missed with his departure and will be hard to replace.

Hopefully, we can pull in Shannon and he will bring a good LB coach and recruiter with him.

I agree, Sirmon was the biggest loss of the two. He was a beast in recruiting and the recruits loved him. I really hope UT can hold on to the current commits and finish out this class strong.

The big question is if he does decommit how long does it take Rivals to push him up in the rankings? Rivals hates us.

Santos is bad JMo. I can tell that you've watched the UA Game Highlights by Paul on VQ. Man he is one bad dude that will command respect. A very much needed leader. To be honest almost all of the defensive committs we have are really good players that would add a lot of talent to our roster and as Dooley stated, make the future even more brighter. To me that's what hurts the most with Wilcox and Sirmon leaving b/c I don't want to lose any of those recruits, but as of right now it seems that most have committed to the University in itself rather than some coaches. I guess we'll see, but I would love the get Shannon just for security.

Santos & Peters are the two guys I do not want to lose the most. Santos is a BAD@$$!!

Agree JMoore. Partially at least. Santos and Peters are both guys that UT cannot afford to lose. They will be studs. But McNeil would be #1 for me. Ridiculously talented, hard-hitting player at a position of more need IMO.

Randolph will be a great player for UT, but outside of himn I'm not too thrilled with what we have back there at S. McNeil and Randolph would form one hell of a tandem in the defensive backfield for years.

Santos and Peters are #2A and #2B for me though. Both will be studs at LB. I think we have a little more depth and young talent at LB though than we do at DB.
