Would certainly help his chances of being the starting MLB next fall.

Yes, and even if that wasn't the result, the weight room would quickly solve any concerns.

I may be wrong, but it seems like Dooley is allllllll about some early enrollers

No, you are correct. With such a young team, and still in the rebuilding process, EE's are crucial.

Question... since I just don't know as much about recruiting process.

Is it usually "You have a chance to be an EE, which makes you rise on my priority list." or "You are someone I want at Tennessee. You're committed. Let's see if we can get EE status."?

Just curious

Both, IMO. I'm not sure which one of those scenarios is used more often. Someone smarter than me could probably answer that. But I think both of those are things that happen in recruiting.

Cross and Hill being EEs is awesome in addition to Santos.

Absolutely. Glad to see them on that list.
They, as a tandem, might be the recruits I'm most excited about. I think they will both be better SEC backs than the 3 star rating, especially if they excel in catching the football in Chaney's scheme.

Name these two players:

HT: 6'3 WT: 248 40: 4.7 Ranking: 15th ILB

HT: 6'2 WT: 245 40: 4.65 Ranking: 15th ILB

I'll give you a hint, they're from 2 different recruiting classes.

Don'ta Hightower and Santos

I wonder if Rivals called Hightower fat too?

Now that we have a Hightower we just need to find a Richardson and we're all set :)

Or maybe we did with Cross...

& plays better competition in HS than Hightower did.

which proves that offer lists or HS competition aren't the only indicators since it's probably fair to say that Santos will not be another Hightower. These sort of expectatiosn are why we called kids "busts" if they don't produce their freshman year.
