Why have "Aggie Mods" been saying this deal is going to happen "in a couple weeks" for the past year? And why do you still believe them? A&M and their gay, idol horse need to stay in the Big12.

cant speak for the mods, only can speak about what ive been told. radio stations across the SE have been talking about A&M to the SEC. ive been to many other team sites, and this is the only one complaining about A&M to the SEC. It works out great for both schools? why does UT not want A&M in the SEC???

Well the UT administration will simply vote no to letting the Aggies in, just to make sure we get this guy. He's gonna be really really good

A&M to the SEC has nothing what so ever to do about Dalton Santos.... its about getting out of a ****ty conference and going into the best football conference in america.

Hopefully our coaches also played a big part in Santos picking Tenneessee. The kids really seem to like Sirmon, so I think this will be enough for Santos to stick with his commitment.

There were two main factors in Santos' decision: distance & SEC

A&M had the distance and Tennessee had the SEC. He obviously valued the SEC a little more than distance but it was still close. Now, imagine if A&M has the upperhand in both of these categories. It's not real tough to see that he would probably switch his commitment. But, crazier things have happened -- everyone thought that Jordan Williams would switch to UF once they offered and that didn't happen.

For UT's sake, let's just hope these are false rumors.

The topic of this thread is Dalton Santos - if you want to discuss other things there are appropriate places to do so.

Stay on topic.

You are listening to a minority of UT fans. Most that I know would love to have A&M in the SEC....seems like a natural fit to me.

A lot of people don't like the idea that conference was the major deciding factor for Santos. Only Dalton really knows why he committed to UT but I tend to agree that A&M moving to the SEC would give him a lot to think about and would probably mean that he ends up an Aggie.

Santos obviously likes UT, the coaches, the stadium, the campus, etc. but A&M is no slouch in any of those areas. My guess is that he would love to play near friends/family in the area that he grew up in but he is making a business decision to go to UT because it will showcase his skills better.

Myself, I would be worried if LSU started going after Santos due to the SEC and distance factors.

Too much at stake, Santos is not going to reverse his decision on conjecture. However, IF the SEC were to extend an invitation and IF TAMU accepts, at best, 2013 would be the earliest that TAMU participates in SEC Conf play. IMO. Santos remains a VOL \ VFL.

Just let the man hold onto any scrap he can find to let him think there is still a chance his school can get Dalton. It let's him sleep better at night.
You make it sound like the only reason Santos picked the Vols is so he could play in the SEC. Yes I know at his "press conference" he said it came down to wanting to play in the SEC but if he wasn't blown away on his visit here he wouldn't be coming here. With Dalton and his family living in east Texas I'm sure he was careful on giving reasons for picking Tennessee. Players rarely give the real reason for leaving their local area to play hundreds of miles away. The reason is usually they just want to go somewhere different and experience new people places and things. Even if there were plans on the table for A&M to join the SEC which is highly unlikely I think Dalton still comes to Tennessee. If it makes you feel better to think it's just because we're in the SEC that's fine but if you ever visit Knoxville especially on gameday you will understand it's much more then that.

They have been claiming to be on the fast track to the SEC For way more than a year. I agree with your post btw.

let me say this one last time for the people who cant seem to understand this. A&M to the SEC has ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, NOTHING to do with Santos.
