Too many conflicting reports coming out.

That's what happens when either telling the truth isn't important or he is entirely confused with the process. Either way trying to figure out the truth is a waste of time.

I feel you. I kind of felt the same way. But, I think you're not taking into account two things. 1.) They aren't a particularly wealthy family and 2.) Van Tx is a long a** way away. I'm 10 + hrs away in NE LA and he's another 3-4 West of here. So to have to drive 14-15 hrs both ways on your own dime (gas isn't cheap) without knowing who your DC is gonna be, he had a legit case.

Sal was hired that Friday. He would have met him when he got here and he knew him from visiting Alabama. I know what you are saying , but I'm sure the other recruits aren't all rolling in cash. LaDarrell had a long way to come , as did Otha. It was the biggest recruiting weekend we had. He is taking trips all over. I know they are closer , but it still costs money. He isn't having a hard time getting to other places.

You guys want UT to get back top the upper echelon of college fball? These are the kind of recruiting battles you have to win. Lifelong Texas kid getting a late offer. This was part of the reason you hire Sunseri......to help win these recruiting battles.

This is what it's about.

Tenn paid for the other recruits travel expenses.

Wow! This changes my tune a bit. I still hope we get him, but Danny Obrien is my new favorite recruit. This guy is just too wish washy.

Same. I'm not worrying anymore about him and his constant love towards other teams. He will not make or break this recruiting class. Whatever happens happens.

What is funny about that? UT has to recruit kids that will often be more than an 8 hour car ride from K'ville. Home sickness is a pretty big issue for some of them. If they aren't certain then it only creates issues later.

It would be better to lose this kid now than to have him saying he made a mistake and leave in a year a la Arnett.

Lets all panic...lol

He said he was going to visit UT

Texas took it that he meant them, since they think they are the only UT

We all know differently

No he isn't. Stop being stupid.

He will take his visit then he will let everyone know. If he chooses them, so be it. His prerogative. The Vols have done all they can with him.

If he sticks with the Vols then we will know that he is 100% certain.

I'm one of the most positive posters on here when it comes to recruiting but I just feel it's inevitable that he ends up at Texas.

I think hes a Longhorn too.

Imagine what YOU would do if the roles were reversed. You and your family were all Volunteers, you committed to Texas because TN never offered, but then...at the last moment TN offered you, you'd flip in a min. I know I would.

Dont blame him if he switches and will wish him well. Just a shame that fanhood can overtake all the hard work and effort CDD and staff have put into a recruit. Another reason Id hate to have my paycheck depend on the whims of 17 and 18 year olds.

Yeah, but the difference was he had already used his official here, so we couldn't pay for him to come back. The other examples you are using are being paid for by the schools as officials. He was going to have to come here on an unofficial on his own dime. Also, with it being a 14 hr trip, he would have had to start driving before Sal was hired.

this whole thing is just becoming comical.

Don't kid yourselves, if Texas legitimately offers he's gone. They have that power -- they could offer the night before NSD and majority of in-state kids would jump at it.

What happened to 99.9%

Nothing yet but the Texas offer obviously caught him off guard and is appealing to him. The "panic" is completely unwarranted. He will make his choice and none of the hope or pessimism here will have a thing to do with it.

If he flips then it opens up another slot. Hopefully he won't but as others have said he will not make or break this class. No single player ever does.
