- vqbowles came up to knoxville on an un-official visit for the cincinnati game and had the time of his life. He spent time with players and coaches and several fans actually knew who he was.
"i had a blast," bowles said. "it's always good to go home and be with the guys. Me and my family had a great time. The family atmosphere and the stadium was great. I had people recognize me. It blew me away when the yelled my name."
"we are going to try to be there in two weeks for the game," bowles said. "i try to recruit for us hard. I want them to make their own decision, but i want to build relationships and get to know them as a person. I just want them to feel comfortable with me and the tennessee program."
I usually get on VN to just read but thought I would post on Drae since I have seen him play several times throughout his career. The kid is a Great athlete and his numbers may not pop out like some of the other WR's but he really is all they have so he draws a ton of attention. For alot of high profile players that could get frustrating but Drae is a team player and just does whatever the Coaching staff ask of him. I also watched Jabriel many times in HS and both are great athletes but Bowles just has the size and strength to go with it. I guess the reason I posted is because I feel like he gets overlooked sometimes and it may be because the numbers but Vol Nation should be really excited they are getting a stud WR out of west TN.
Thanks for the info. Not that I think he will end up at safety or that I even want him to but how does he look on defense?
Physically he has the body to play defense in the SEC, the kid is legit on his size and speed. He can definitely hit and has never been labeled soft. In this area teams don't throw much and the teams that do rarely test your safeties so its hard to tell how good his coverage skills are. In my opinion I think when he gets on campus and has a real qb who can get him the ball in space and on time he will be just fine.
His team can't throw. Plus, his team isn't very good. And, I just noticed you're from Jackson. You should know this.
Drae's stats from last friday: touched the ball 5 times....95 yards rushing and a TD, 66 yards receiving and two TDs. Can somebody please tell me why his coach isn't putting the ball in his hands more? Ridiculous.
