The Jackson Sun is a retarded newspaper. I would be willing to bet it was just a typo.

The Jackson Sun is bad, but I have to say they do a decent job in covering high school football. Everything else not so much.

"Tennessee was the first team to give me an offer, and that was in the spring of my sophomore year," Bowles said. "Since then, I've developed a great relationship with Coach Dooley and Coach (Terry) Joseph.

"I visited campus twice — for the Kentucky game last year and one of their spring practices — and I loved every minute of it. They're very family-oriented and genuine there."

Is that anywhere near Covington? jk Took a shortcut through Ripley once and picked up on a few pieces of semi-righteous fried chicken at some convenience store/gas station. I said to myself, if I ever come through this town again hungry, Imma stop for some more of that chicken.

Glad to see this thread well discussed. The team has sought him since his sophomore year and closed the deal at a needed position.

I was fooling around a bit. But fact is that I am happy about Bowle's commitment, genuinely happy. Coach Dooley is bringing in fine players to the team; everybody knows. I feel confident about the future.

Ripley is a little north of Covington on Hwy 51. Not a gas station, but there's a joint not far from there in Mason, Tn named Gus's that is known everywhere for their chicken.

My family is from Haywood County. I remember as a kid my grandad would drive me over to a BBQ spot called Bozos. I have fond memories of that place. Is it still in operation?

He's from my alma mater. He was in 8th grade when I was a senior on JCS's team he was a physical freak even then. Just told him how happy I am he committed to UT. :)

I live in Covington and yes, Bozo's is still open. We pick up pulled pork from there somewhat regularly. And for the other guy...you can see Gus's from the Bozo's parking lot.
