The kid is already 6'0 190 & runs a 4.5 40, by the end of his Senior year he could be 6'1 200 & run a 4.4. On top of that he plays against some of the best competition in the state, people want to question the type of talent Young goes against well Mathers plays ALOT tougher. If he decideds to go to any camps this summer his stock could blow up, I really hope Dooley & staff get on this kid. We could have a STUD back in our own backyard.

Also, has anyone heard about coaches wanting him to play LB in College? I remember reading that somewhere the other day but could'nt remember where.
Don't think I've heard anything about him playing linebacker in college. He is a runningback. He will not play linebacker. You must be thinking of someone else.

My brother is a teammate of his, and he told me that I'tavius is getting letters from numerous schools, including Tennessee, Memphis, MTSU, and Western Kentucky among others. I'll see if I can try to get some more info about his preferences. As far as what position he'll play in college, he is purely a running back. There is just way too much talent for him to play anywhere else.

I know he has been offered by Vanderbilt. According to Scout.com he shows his schools of interest as Alabama, Duke, Michigan, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt. I have no inside info on him. If you do, it would be great to hear what Mathers preferences are.

No problem. I'm going to the Blackman vs. Riverdale game this Friday, and I'll see if I can get some info for you guys. Note that most of this info will be relayed from what my brother tells me.

By now everyone should know that I love this kid as a prospect for us next year, I really hope he comes to our camp next summer & earns a offer from the staff.

He's going to get a lot of looks at some major Division I schools. My brother told me of one his teammates, Hunter Thompson, who is receiving interest from Ivy League schools like Princeton, Brown, and Penn.

Big game against Riverdale tonight; guys on 104.5 talking very big about him tonight. I think this guy could be a grab next year, and has a big frame to put on some good size:

No. 6 Blackman pulled out a thrilling 44-43 win over No. 7 Riverdale Friday, as Blaze running back I’Tavius Mathers rushed for a career-high and school-record 322 yards and four touchdowns

Mathers rushed for 322 yards and 4 touchdowns tonight on 27 carries against Riverdale. He set a Blackman single game rushing record for the 2nd time this year. He has ended the regular season with 2,070 yards rushing.

Beat me to it...
I believe he is Blackman's first 2,000-yard rusher. Oh, and he did it against some hefty defensive linemen from Riverdale.

I have'nt been able to see any film on Robinson to make a judgement.

Man you gotta find some (see the game vs ridgeway). Id like to see what you have to say about his film. He's a stud back and I think robinson and mathers are going to be competing for the top back next year of of TN. Maybe with ridgeway's jaylen walton near the top as well.

Of course they still have a year to get better/perform but all this is JMO

Well, my son's team plays against his in the 1st round of the playoffs this Friday night. So, I'll be able to give a report. From what I've heard, though, he's a holy terror.
