Tyler Hayworth, a OL/DL from Dobyns Bennett High. Big, strong kid, 6'3" 300 lbs who moves pretty well.

I started this (because he didn't have thread) but mainly because DB plays TN High this weekend and Mack Crowder and Tyler are sure to say 'hello' to each other. I'm going to the game and I'm interested to see if Crowder can push this kid around. If he can (especially if he manhandles him) I think it bodes well for Crowder. Not that I doubt Macks ability at all.

I have some mixed feelings about this being a DB alum but in the long run I want UT to get quality recruits. Who knows maybe Tyler will be able to follow Crowder in 2012..

Here's a quote from 7/23/10 by Brandon Price (Third Saturday in Blogtober). I know nothing about this site. Maybe someone here can enlighten me as to this sites credibility..

Big Orange Mailbag Roundup 3rd Saturday in Blogtober

The best player coming out of that area for next year is OL/DL Tyler Hayworth, who is a lock to get a UT offer.

Being a Tn High alumnus I am not sure how to take all of these NE TN commits/possible commits... While i was up that way it was Teddy Gaines and Witten and Sensabaugh to UNC via ETSU...Hard to believe there is this much talent all of a sudden. It would be awesome if thats the case.. just seems to be quite a bit all of a sudden!

Not sure if he is D1 talent. I just thought he might be someone to keep an eye on, especially this weekend.

I know him pretty well. He was an unofficial visitor for the UAB game. There are some other schools that want him to visit this year as well. I will post more when I find out.

As far as his size goes, he certainly looks the part. He is about 6'4 305.

That area has grown quite a bit. Actually all of East Tenn is growing quite a bit. I wouldn't think it's beyond reason to think 1 or 2 more LEGIT D-1 prospects could be floating around per year between Knoxville, Morristown, Greenville, JC, Bristol, and Kingsport. JC has REALLY grown up. Problem with some of those dudes is keeping them out of the streets.

Tyler looked good tonight. I counted three pancakes before the game got ugly and I quit paying attention.. It was 28 zip with a couple of minutes left in the first quarter... This kid is large and plays with a definate nasty streak.. Also he's only a junior with another year to get stronger and better.

If this kid turns out to be a good SEC type OL then I would love to add him & Still to next years class.

LV please keep an eye on Tyler. Watched all his games this year and he's playing better each game. Good size, nice action with his feet and nice leadership on the sidelines. I think he projects as a guard on the next level. Not a lock for a Vol offer next year, but there is potential as we look to add depth with size over the next couple of years. Tyler needs to keep working on the field, in the weight room and in the class room and he'll project into the kind of player Hiestand and Dooley are looking for.

It would be cool to see Tyler and Mack Crowder side by side in a few years... At least from a Tri-Cities point of view.. :)

Heard from a db coach last night that he would probabaly be taking an unoffical visit today. Good lineman with good forms on his blocks. Appears to be quick and strong for his age. Looks like he would have the possibility to be a solid D1 lineman.

I just finished editing Ty's highlights...should be on youtube in a week or so! I'm a student not a coach by the way.

Is this kid related to Tracy Hayworth? Tracy was a Vol back in the late 80s I believe. He went on to play in the NFL for a little while.

"I'm getting a lot of interest from Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Duke and Virginia," he said.

"Location is a big deal, location has a lot to do with where I want to go to school," he said. "I love Georgia Tech, I like the Atlanta area and I grew up a fan of Tennessee and Virginia Tech is good to me too."

Still, Hayworth's favorite is clearly the in-state Volunteers.

"I've grown up loving Tennessee," he said. "I'm always watching them and if Tennessee offers that'd be amazing, a dream come true."
