Kid's been working with J. Wilhoit. James posted a pic of the two of them on facebook announcing his commitment.

Only thing that puzzles me with taking Bullock, is we offered him over an even better in-state kicker, Landon Foster. I dont mind taking a kicker on scholarship, but I think Foster was the more qualified kicker imo. However, im not the coaches, so i'll trust Dooley's decision.

tooth fairy. In Dooley we trust! This is just a damn wasted scholarship. How many do we have to give??? I am so over this guy and his bizarre recruiting philosophy, if that is what you call it. Dooley is all hat and no cattle.

I hope you're not right, but this is certainly a headscratcher

Did Brodus attempt any field goals in the O&W game? I remember hearing his name but not what he did. I remember that Rhome was 3/3 (long of 42) in the 2010 O&W game, but the lines weren't live.

To answer my own question:

There were two field goals attempted in the ice tornado of this year's O&W game.

Palardy missed from 37

Brodus hit from 27

Doesn't tell you much.

Brodus was also 3/3 on XPs, Palardy 1/1

Assuming that Bullock will be a kickoff specialist, he's a much better choice than Foster from the camp stats I'm looking at. And there's always the chance he could grow into a better FG kicker as well.

I am a true Vol with associations with many former players. Most on here think I am a troll but really don't we have the right to question some of this? I mean really we need every scholarship this year for players, at best this is a stretch in anybody's book. I desperately want us to succeed but Dooley has me banging my head agaisnt the wall. I want him to succeed and i will eat crow at any point but really can any Dooley man explain this? We are competing with second tier teams for players that may or may not be SEC players and it concerns the hell out of me.

And you are the smartest fan we have. Why doesn't UT hire you to be AD. I am just dumbfounded.

Well, you complain because a fg kicker can't get the ball off the ground to defeat the national champs. You complain that we kick it to the 15 on a line, or out of bounds. You complain we miss an XP that would have given Dooley a winning season. Then you whine about giving a kicker a scholly. A kicker that you have never seen kick, as have the coaches. That sums up many of our fans.

We do have the right to question some of this. If you'll look through the thread, you'll see a lot of us questioning this.

What makes you a troll is that everything you say is "Dooley sucks, we're doomed as a program, why haven't we fired him already?"

So your supposed former football player friends don't like the direction of the program and Dooley? BS story.

I say CDD has it all under control. Why wouldn't you want a good local kicker with strong upside that has proven himself in camp in front of the coaching staff against quality competition? The kid was going to take the best schollie offer he got with UT rated at the top if he got the offer. He knows what game day means at Neyland. Welcome aboard, George. VFL!

I am not a fan of his. I just can't find the enthusiasm that some have. He is a different dude and marches to his own drummer but really at some point we have to have a little light at the end of the tunnel. He may be the greatest but when I see first year coaches recruit circles around him, him asking for several visits from recruits before he offers and then something like this when our scholarships are limited you go WTF. Does he make a good interview yes, will he run a clean program yes, will he win, you have to seriously question that. I am afraid he is a throw back to the old days and is convinced he can take 2 and 3 star players and win. That is just not going to happen in the SEC.

The move may seem odd from a far, but hell, how would any of us know the reasoning behind it? That rumor about Palardy and a hernia could be true, and Dooley may know he'll never kick for UT again. Point being: NONE of us know. Good thing we'll find out in 35 days. I suggest you unknot your panties Fuji, and relax.

Do you not think a good kicker is important? How many games have we lost the last few years because of a kicker, if this kid can make a meaningful kick he's worth a scholly.
