Who will Kimbrow choose?

Talked to a couple coaches about Kimbrow contacting them. They said that it was indeed true, but that they felt like they had moved on from Kimbrow, and had bigger fish to fry.

I don't think this is about punishing him for choosing Vandy. I think the staff just doesn't feel like he's that good.

People forget how small he is. He's actually pretty freaking small when you see him in person. 5'9" 165lbs. for an SEC running back is laughable. Plus, I don't think he's the staffs "type" of RB. You can get speed without being vertically challenged.

Darren Sproles was listed as 5'7 170lbs as a junior on Kansas State's official site. Means he was probably as small or smaller than Young as a freshman. Sproles is listed at 5'6 190lbs in the NFL. He just got a 1 year contract for more than 7 million just to return kicks/punts and be a receiver out of the backfield/slot receiver. His rushing numbers in college were awesome too. 1,465(So.), 1,986(Jr.), 1,318(Sr.). Regardless, if an NFL team is willing to pay a RB who doesn't run the ball 7 mil a year, you should at least see what Young can do for the return game and as a receiver. He doesn't have to be your typical running back that runs the ball 20 times a game. He can run five times, have the ball thrown to him five times and return it five. That's 15 touches a game and he wouldn't be getting killed by lineman and linebackers. He'd still make an impact

Now whether he could hold Sproles jock... that's another story. But he's worth the scholarship if he can play a similar role that Sproles is playing in the NFL. If he can put a few pounds on and run the ball like Sproles did in college, that would be gravy. I'll settle for good field position on returns and catching balls out of the back field though.

You're wasting your time, Kimbrow is not nor will ever be, these players you're bringing up. He just doesn't have "it".

Ok you are dumb as ****.

And thats putting it lightly.

Who are the hell are you to say he does not have the 'it" when you never have seen him or spoken to him?

All you hear is biased info coming from this site and biased info coming from your friends.

The OV story is false by the way. Talked to him the other day and he said he did no such thing although Redmond wants to.

Sproles is an exception. It's not the rule. That message cannot be said enough on this board. I'm not saying Kimbrow won't be good. I think he's damn good. I stated that he may not be what the staff is looking for in a RB. DY will not be a RB at UT. I think that is very evident now.

I'm sure he did. If he did contact the staff, I can see him telling everyone he didn't though. It makes him look like a complete jack@$$ after all the anti-UT crap he has said.

If he got an OV he should be in the nosebleeds on a cold night.

Or a seat in a stall in the nose bleeds.

Would you admit to contacting the coaches if you knew in all probability they were going to tell you to eff off? I sure as hell wouldn't, i'm sure Kimbrow would do the same.

I heard Vandy's Rivals mods were elite investigators. Maybe they can figure this one out.

367 yds and 5 TD's vs. Jovon Robinson's, who went for well over 200yds himself, team tonight.

Game featured two teams allergic to defense.

Has over 1K in yds in 4 games but has yet to play anything resembling a defense.

Kimbrow has now rushed for 1,070 yards and 12 touchdowns on 104 carries (10.3 ypc) so far this year in 3 games. Also had a receiving TD last week.

Im not for him but that is crazy numbers even if you dont play good defenses.

That is just crazy.

Right...

He will have to play at MUS in 2 weeks. Last season he was held to about 15 yes until he cracked on for about 85 yds against the 2nd/3rd string with 2-3 mins left in the game. MUS has losses to Ensworth and SP, but played great defense overall against the two.

I now the kid is a good back, but that will be the first time he faces something considered to be a defense.
