Horrible argument. The backs you're describing we already have or are recruiting as well (Poole, Neal, Lane, Smith, and are recruiting Robinson, and Cross is committed). We need Kimbrow. Period. He brings a facet to the game that we just don't have. He is a game-changer. He's an unbelievable talent. Plus he is #1 on the board undoubtedly.

Maybe it's the Memphis homer in you coming out pulling for this "game changer". I clearly said he would be a good pickup..but you can make NO arguement where a 160 pound RB running 4.3 will make any more impact than a 200+lb RB who runs a 4.4 and can play every down. Of course CDD and staff do not want to let the Tennessee kids go elsewhere, but there are several RBs on the board who would be better pulls than Kimbrow IMO.
The DY comments people are making about competition do not make alot of sense to me. I would say these guys are very similar. The big difference is DY would step in front of a train for his orange, and BK seems to be trying to jockey for his friend. If you don't offer his buddy, he does not mention you as an option.
Make no argument for a BK-type player over a Cross-type player? Here's one: the staff (Chaney especially) has stated we don't have a home run guy, and we really want one. He changes the game. Defenses have to account for the facets he brings versus what every down-type backs bring. That's just one reason. Apparently the staff has many arguments since he's #1 overall on our board over the other backs on TN.
Moreover, this isn't like offering Nash Nance to get Rogers. Redmond is very good and is getting plenty if BCS offers on his own. UT will offer him because he is good enough to earn one. Don't kid yourself.
As far as the Memphis comment, I actually don't like Memphis very much, at all. Kids here just have worlds of athletic ability. I don't think that can be argued.
